(As per the proforma available on the website) SELECTION PROCESS: l The selection processcomprises of Written Test and Personal interview. l Eligible candidates will be invited for objective type written test at their own expense. l The selection process will consist of an Objective type Written Test to be held at Bhopal. The Question Booklet will be available in Hindi and English. Based on merit and requirement, the short listed Candidates will be required to appearfor personal interview. l On the basis of Written Test, candidates will be short listed for the interview in the ratio of 1:3 to the number of vacancies. l For the purpose of application of the above criteria, initially, all UR candidates, along with such reserved category candidates, who do not avail age relaxation/ marks relaxation, will be grouped together and then arranged in descending order of the marks obtained in the Written Test and only the required number according to the above mentioned ratio for UR, starting from the top will be called for the interview. In case of tie at cut-off marks, all the candidates scoring cutoff marks will be called for interview. l All reserved category candidates who are initially considered in the UR category and who do not make it to interview level, then shall be regrouped with their respective categories for further consideration and candidates will be called for interview in the prescribed ratio. It means these candidates, will then be considered as reserved category candidates. l Later on, at the time of final selection, the same method will be followed forall those reserved category candidates considered so far under unreserved category. l All eligible Ex-Servicemen candidates who possess the pass certificate of NTC and MAC (% of marks not mandatory) in the relevant trade from Armed Forces will be called for written test. EMOLUMENTS AND OTHER BENEFITS: l Selected candidates will initially be taken as Temporary Employees for a period of one year. During his period they will be paid daily wages as per notification of the State Government from time to time for the initial six months and consolidated wages for the subsequent six months. Currently the average wages on daily rates basis are Rs. 3800/-p.m. approx and consolidated wages are Rs. 5500 p.m. In addition, they will be entitled to Leave, Contributory Provident Fund (PF), Gratuity, Free medical benefits for self and dependent family members as per Company rules and will also be eligible for subsidized company accommodation, if available. l On successful completion of this one year period, they will be absorbed in the regular establishment as Artisan Gr. Applications are invited from male Indian candidates belonging to Uttar Pradesh and Delhi for the post of Constable (General Duty) in Border Security Force for the year 2009 on temporary basis likely to be permanent in the pay band-l Rs. 5200-20200 plus grade pay Rs. 2000/- plus usual and admissible allowances to Central Government Employees From time to time. Note: Men belonging to Hill areas should produce Hill area certificate issued by concerned State Authority at the time of recruitment so that they can take benefits in height. MEDICAL STANDARD FOR CONSTABLE (GD) Eye Sight :- The minimum distance vision should be 6/6 and 6/9 of both eyes without correction i.e. without wearing of glasses. The candidates must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes and they should possess high colour vision. They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties. 4. ELIGIBILITY FOR RE-EMPLOYMENT OF EX-SERVICEMAN FOR CONSTABLE (GD). Ex-servicemen being trained soldier, only written test and Medical fitness test to ascertain Medical category will be conducted. As per Govts order total relaxation in prescribed physical standard and Education is admissible. Relaxation of upper age limit to the extent of military service plus 3 years is applicable. However, break in Army service and re-employment should not exceed 2 years. No PET is required to qualify by ExServicemen. 5. Persons serving in Govt. / Semi Govt. department may send their applications through proper channel along with No Objection Certificate as per format in Annexure-ll. 6 Wards (sons) : serving/retired BSF personnel may also apply if so desired accordingly. Sons of serving BSF personnel may apply either from their Home State or from State in which his father is posted/deployed at the time of recruitment. This concession is also applicable for serving Enrolled Followers of BSF. 7. TESTS FOR CONST (GD) : a) The candidates qualified height test will be subjected 5 Km race to be completed within 24 minutes, 11 feet long jump (three chances to be given and 3 feet 6 inches high jump (three chances to be given). i) Physical Efficiency Tests will now be only qualifying in nature and it will not carry any marks, ii) The candidates who qualify in the PETs will be required to appear in a written test. b) Written test- will consist of OMR based objective type multiple choice questions to answered using a pen. A question paper should be 100 marks and it will comprise at least 100 questions. Questions papers will be set to assess the general awareness/general knowledge, knowledge of elementary mathematics, analytical aptitude and ability to observe and distinguish patterns and to test the basic knowledge of the candidates in English/Hindi. The papers can be answered either in Hindi or in English, i) The candidates will be allowed to take carbon copy of the answer sheet. Answer key to the question paper to be posted on the website and displayed on the notice board after the written examination is completed. c) Medical examination- The candidates will be medically examined to assess their physical & medical fitness as prescribed in the eligibility conditions. 8. HOW TO APPLY AND BY WHICH DATE (CONST (GD) ) Application.in the prescribed format at Annexure-II and Annexure-Ill either by type written or neatly hand written on one side only on full size plain paper with pass-port size photographs affixing on application duly attested by Gazetted Officer with seal be sent to The Commandant 25 Bn BSF, Chhawla Camp, Najafgarh, New Delhi-71 on or before 30 days after publication of this Advertisement in leading news papers through post alongwith following documents : a) Postal order for Rs. 50/- payable in favour of Commandant 25 Bn BSF and payable at Post OfficeChhawla, New Delhi-71 or demand draft of SBl for Rs. 50/- in favour of Commandant 25 Bn BSF and payable at Branch of SBl Najafgarh A.D.B.Code No. 1419 only will be submitted by General and OBC Category candidates as application fee. However, no postal order or Demand Drafts is required to be sent by SC/ST candidates and Ex-servicemen. Note: The candidates shall be required to qualify in each objective test as per cut-off marks determined on the basis of Group Performance in each test subject to minimum 40% marks (35% in case of SC/ST/OBC/PC candidates) in aggregate out of 200 marks of the objective test. Wrong answers given in the objective test will result in negative marks. b) DESCRIPTIVE TEST It will consist of 4 questions out of which the candidates are required to attempt 3 questions only. The test will be of 60 marks (i.e. 20 marks for each question). The minimum passing marks would be 40% for General Category candidates and 35% for SC, ST, OBC and PC candidates. Time duration for the test will be 45 minutes. However, the test will be only qualifying and the marks obtained therein shall not be reckoned for preparing the merit list. The candidates shall have the option to answer the descriptive test either in English or Hindi. Further, the descriptive paper will be evaluated to the extent of around 5 times the number of vacancies based on the merit ranking of the objective test. Wherever written examination is held, the blind candidates and candidates whose writing speed is affected by cerebral palsy can use own scribe at their cost during the written examination.
