PLSHS VRC 12:37:46 Dear Parent(s) and guardian(s): Scott Kneifl and I, Randy Stribley, would like to thank you for supporting your son or daughter with this year’s VEX Robotics Competition (VRC). We are the district robotics instructors. This is an exciting year for our program. Our mission is to enhance students by involving them in an engineering based activity that will help students be successful in the future with focus on science, technology, engineering, innovation, leadership, character, accountability and communication. PLV COMPETITION 1/16/10 Please put 1/16/10 from 7AM-7PM (approximate times) on your calendar to save that date. Our district teams will be hosting and participating in a 26 team tournament at Papillion La Vista High School. PARENT MEETING Our district will be having a parent meeting in November, exact date will be sent out soon. This meeting will let you see what students are working on, get a feel for the PLV competition area at PLHS, and ask questions. We also hope parents will be able to support the their students and the program by volunteering for a few hours at the PLV competition and recommend other potential volunteers. COSTS Once again the district is completely funding this year’s robotics program at both schools. This includes waiving each student’s night school credit fee (normally $50), team registrations, regional registrations, and national competition registration. There is a required amount of participation and level of displayed character to earn credit for this course. Optional expenses are team t-shirts and world competition costs. MEETINGS AND EVENTS Meetings are most Wednesdays from 3:30 to 5:00 or 5:30 now till April. Our meetings are open door so please stop in. All competition events are detailed on robotevents.com.
