Discussion: •
New students and staff are settling in well.
•
Shrubs and raised garden provided by Parks Department over summer holidays
•
Safe crossing is now marked and a barricade put up.
•
4 new active white boards have been installed
•
Main focus of this term is reading as we need to bring our level of attainment up. This is especially essential in the higher classes.
•
Clubs are starting back up, but help is needed from parents.
Conclusions: •
Also discussed: members of Parent Council getting their police checks done so that they could help out when needed.

Opening balance was £2986.92 added was sponsored walk moneys of £4335.85

Money was spent on White boards, and sound equipment and a beech curved seat. Balance Remaining is £2536.53 Conclusions:
Of the wish list created last term, the only outstanding items are the garden shed and some things for the library.

Fundraising
It was discussed that there would be fundraising before another wish list is voted upon. The two main fundraisers discussed were the Craft Fair and a Race Night once again. Kay is to have list ready for next meeting as what she needs help with at the Craft Fair. £536 was set aside for the funding of this event.

Learning Festival
Presenter:
Discussion:
The Focus is on reading with Mrs. Kennedy launching activities already to promote reading. The Learning Festival is set for 29 October and will have a Birthday Theme to celebrate Andover’s 10th year of being in their ‘new’ place. Thoughts were that there would be a birthday cake for refreshments for the evening. The Parent Council would fund the refreshments.

Suggestions were brought forward for workshops with book themes. Thoughts of a book character day and drama or treasure hunt for children with displays in hall. This will also coincide with the Book Fair.
Conclusions:
Mrs. Kennedy was looking for new ideas, will bring more of an order to the next meeting letting the Parent Council know just where they could be of help.
Other Information •
Input from Jo Whaite had to be put on hold as she was not in attendance.

The School Improvement plan was also moved to another meeting as Mrs. Howson has not had the opportunity to present it to her staff.
•
An AGM for the Parent Council is to be in September according to the constitution. The date set for this is 29 September at 6:30 pm.
•
After the AGM is over the Council will be discussing: 1. Learning Festival 2. Craft Fair 3. School Improvement Plan
