METHOD OF SELECTION The Selection process to be followed is indicated below : (a) All applications as per format given in the websites are to be forwarded to respective Command Headquarters. (b) Preliminary selection of prospective candidates studying in the Final/Pre-Final Year (Engineering) will be made by a selection team detailed by Command HQ for holding preliminary interviews at University/College. (c) Since candidates are required to be under graduates during the selection process and must be graduates at the time of commencement of the course, applications of the Final year candidates graduating before April 2010 and after July 2010, similarly PreFinal Year candidates graduating before April 2011 and after July 2011 will not be considered. Candidates whose University examination pattern does not permit applying for the UES are advised to apply for TGC/SSC (T) commencing at IMA Dehradun/OTA Chennai in Jan/Apr and Jul/Oct every year. TGC/SSC(T) courses are being notified in Employment News and other prominent News papers in April and Oct i.e. approximately 09 months before commencement of TGC course at IMA Dehradun and 12 months

MEDICAL EXAMINATION: (a) Candidates recommended by the Service Selection Board will undergo medical examination by a board of Male/female doctors/specialists/ gynecologist. The proceedings of the Medical Board are confidential and will not be divulged to anyone. However the candidates declared unfit by the Special Medical Board (SMB), will be intimated by the President of the medical Board and Procedure for request for Appeal Medical Board (AMB) will also be intimated to the candidate. Unfit candidates should report for AMB within maximum 42 days. Candidates are advised in their own interest to appear for AMB well in time and should not wait for last date given by the SMB. Candidates are advised to note that Recruiting Directorate has no role to play in Appeal Medical Board. The procedure advised by medical authorities is strictly to be adhered to. Candidates declared unfit by AMB will be intimated by the president AMB about procedure of challenging the findings of AMB. The candidates will also be intimated that Review Medial Board (RMB) will be granted at the discretion of DGAFMS based on the merits of the case and that RMB is not a matter of right. PHYSICAL STANDARD (MEN) The minimum acceptable Height is 157.5cms. with correleted weight . For Gorkhas and individuals belonging to hills of North Eastern region of India, Garhwal and Kumaon, the minimum acceptable height will be 5 cm less. In case of candidates from Lakshadweep, the minimum acceptable height can be reduced by 2 cms. (b) Physical Standards : (Women) (i) Height and Weight : The minimum acceptable height and weight for women candiates is 152 cm and 42 kg with co-related height and weight. In case of candidates belonging to the North East and hilly areas like Gorkhas, Nepalese, Assamese and Garhwalis, the height will be relaxed by 5 cms and weight commensurate with reduce height. (ii) To be passed fit, a candidate must be in good physical and mental health free from any disability like to interface with the efficient performance of duty. 10. Prospective candidates are advised to exercise and keep themselves physically fit, in order to avoid any injury due to the rigorous physical training at Indian Military Academy. In order to be able to adjust to the regime there, candidates are advised to achieve following standards before joining the IMA, if finally selected :(a) Running 2.4 km in 15 minutes. (b) Push Ups-13 Nos. (c) Sit Ups-25 Nos. (d) Chin Ups-6 Nos. (e) Rope Climbing-3-4 meters. 11. VISUAL STANDARDS : (a) (i) The minimum acceptable visual acuity are: Distant Vision (corrected) better eye 6/6, worse eye 6/18, myopia of not more than minus 3.50 including astigmatism. (ii) Candidates who have under-gone or have the evidence of having undergone Radial Keratotomy to improve the visual acuity will be permanently rejected: also candidates who have undergone Laser Surgery for correction of refractive error will be considered for commission in Army if they fulfill following criteria:(i) Uncomplicated stable LASIK/Excimer (PRK) laser procedure done for Myopia or Hypermetropia, with stable refraction for a period of six months after the procedure. (ii) A healthy retina. (iii) Corrected vision should be 6/6 in better eye and 6/9 in worse eye, with maximum residual refraction of ± 1.50 in any meridian for myopia or hypermetropia. (iv) Axial length within permissible limits. (b) To be passed fit, a candidate must be in good physical and mental health and free from any disability likely to interfere with the efficient performance of duty. (c) Visual Standards for Women : The minimum acceptable visual acuity are: Distant vision (corrected) letter eye 6/6, worse 6/18, Myopia of not more than minus 5.5 including Astigmation. Candidates who have undergone or have evidence for having undergone Radial Karatotomy to improve the visual acuity will be permanently rejected. Candidates who have undergone Lasik Surgery for Correction of reflective error are NOT acceptable. 12. ENTITLEMENT OF TRAVELLING ALLOWANCE: Candidates appearing for SSB interview for the first time for this entry shall be entitled for IInd class to and fro Railway/Bus fare. 13. TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICES: (a) Candidates during the period of SSC will be given stipend at the rate of minimum basic pay of Lt. However the entire stipend will be paid in lumpsum only on reporting for
training at IMA. They will not be entitled to any other privilages or allowances or expenses in connection with tuition fee, test books, accommodation, messing and other allied services. (b) From the date of joining IMA they will be entitled to full pay and allowances and other benefits as admissible to regular officers. (c) Engineering graduates who possess the prescribed qualification will be granted two years ante-date for purpose of seniority, promotion and increments of pay. The ante-date will, however, be restricted to the date following that from which an officer of the normal regular course who passed out from the IMA approximately two years before him takes his seniority subject to the provision that in no case the ante-date granted be less than one year and eleven months. 14. PAY AND ALLOWANCES AND OTHER BENEFITS AS APPLICABLE: During the period of training the candidates will be given a stipend or Rs. 21,000/p.m. (Rs. 15600/-) as pay in Pay Band plus Grade Pay Rs. 5,400/- on completion of training. Officer are commissioned as Lt. and entitled to the pay band Rs. 15,600/-39,000 with DA at present with other benefits like MSP transport allowance, furnished accommodation, free medical facilities. LTC 60 days annual leave, 20 days casual leave, canteen facilities, entitled ration as per scale,and certain other allowance based on place of posting etc. Army Group Insurance cover of Rs. 30 lakhs to the Gentlemen Cadets of IMA and OTA from the date of joining these instututes for pre-commision training. Visually Impaired (VI) (a) Visually Impaired refers to a person who suffers from either of the following conditions: (i) Total absence of sight, (ii) Visual acuity not exceeding 6/60 or 20/200 (Snellen) in the better eye with correcting lenses, Limitation of the field of vision subtending an angle of 20 degree or worse and so certified by a Medical Board appointed by the State Government. (b) A person with Low Vision means one with impairment of visual functioning even after treatment of standard refractive correction but who uses or is potentially capable of using vision for the planning or execution of a task with appropriate assistive device. 4. Hearing Impaired (HI): (a) Hearing Impaired are those persons in whom the sense of hearing is nonfunctional for ordinary purposes of life, i.e. with total loss of hearing in both ears. They do not hear and understand sounds at all - even with amplified speech. (b) Hearing impairment means loss of more than 60 decibels in the better ear in the conversational range of frequencies. 5. Use of a Scribe / Paper Writer: A SCRIBE / PAPER WRITER, to write the written test / examination, on behalf of a Visually Challenged (VC) [Blind] candidate & an Orthopaedically Challenged (OC) candidate [whose writing speed is affected by Cerebral Palsy], may be used. In all such cases where a Scribe is used, the following rules will apply: 1. The candidate will have to arrange his / her own Scribe at his / her own cost. 2. The Scribe, where he / she assists in writing for the post of Specialist Officers (Post Code 01 TO 10), he / she should be from an academic discipline / stream different from that of the candidate. 3. The academic qualification of the Scribe should be one grade lower than the eligibility criteria stipulated for the post, i.e., where the eligibility criteria stipulated is Graduation, the scribes qualification should not be more than HSC / XIth / PUC and should possess marks less than the candidate and not more than 60% in his own academic stream. 4. Both the candidate as well as the Scribe will have to give a suitable undertaking confirming that the Scribe fulfils all the above stipulated eligibility criteria. In case it later transpires that the scribe did not fulfill any of the laid down eligibility criteria or had suppressed material facts, the candidature of the applicant will stand cancelled, irrespective of the result of the written examination. 5. Candidates who use a Scribe will be eligible for extra time @ 20 minutes for every one hour of the examination. 3 3: RESERVATION IN POSTS: Reservation in posts for different categories of persons is as under:
Reservation in posts for different categories of persons, including backlog under the respective reservation categories is as indicated above against the respective Grade / Scale. Candidates belonging to the Reserved Category are free to apply for the Unreserved vacancies, but they will not be entitled to relaxation in terms of age, qualifications, and standards of selection and other parameters available to the Reserved Category Segment and will compete on Unreserved / General Category Standards. Where a post has been specifically earmarked for a particular Category, other than Unreserved Category, candidates belonging to the other Categories are not permitted to apply. The Reservation for Persons With Disabilities (PWD) in posts where the candidate will be in a position to discharge his duties required of the post as envisaged under The Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights & Full Participation) Act, 1995 will be as follows : OC - X, VI - X, HI X. As the Reservation for Persons With Disabilities (PWD) Category candidates is on a horizontal basis, the selected candidates will be placed in the appropriate category to which they belong (viz. The cumulative age relaxation for PWD category candidates will therefore be (a) by 15 years (10 + 5) for SC/ST; (b) by 13 years (10 + 3) for OBC; and (c) by 10 years (0 + 10) for General Candidates, subject to such cumulative relaxation not taking the age of the candidate to beyond 50 years as on the date of his joining the service of the Bank. iv) All persons who have ordinarily been domiciled in Kashmir Division of J & K State during 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989 by 5 years. Persons eligible for age relaxation under his criteria must produce the domicile certificate from the District Magistrate in the Kashmir Division within whose jurisdiction he/she had ordinarily resided or any other authority designated in this regard by Government of Jammu & Kashmir to the effect that the candidate had ordinarily been domiciled in the Kashmir Division of the State of J & K during 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989. v ) Widows, divorced women & women judicially separated from their husbands, who have not remarried, by 9 years, i.e. Maximum Age of 37 years. vi) The Children / Family Members of those who died in the 1984 riots by 5 years. Persons eligible for age relaxation under this criterion must produce a certificate from the District Magistrate to the effect that they are eligible for relief in terms of the Rehabilitation Package for 1984 Riot Affected Persons sanctioned by the Government and communicated vide Ministry of Finance, Dept. of Financial Services communication No.F.No.9/21/2006-IR dated 27.07.2007). vii) Ex-servicemen who fulfill the revised definition as laid down in Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Personnel & Administrative Reforms Notification No.36034/5/85/Estt(SCT) dated 27.10.1986, as amended from time to time, who have put in not less than 6 months continuous service in the Armed Forces shall be allowed the benefit of age relaxation by deducting the length of such service from his actual age and the resultant age does not exceed 28 years, subject to his not exceeding the Maximum Age of 50 years. The ex-serviceman status for the purpose of re-employment in Government of an Ex-Serviceman ceases once he has joined a government job on the civil side on re-employment, after availing of the benefits given to him as an ex-serviceman. 5: ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: (i) Nationality / Citizenship: A candidate must be either (i) a Citizen of India or (ii) a subject of Nepal or (iii) a subject of Bhutan or (iv) a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 01.01.1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or (v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Govt. of India. Mere eligibility / pass in the Written Test shall not vest any right in a candidate for being called for Personal Interview. (b) While the status of the Test of English Language will be only for qualifying and the marks would not be included in the aggregate marks for the purpose of Merit Ranking, the candidate has to necessarily pass the Test scoring the minimum passing marks or else he / she will be deemed to have failed and not qualified for the further selection process. In the case of the two Objective Tests on (1) Computer Knowledge, and (2) Subject of Specialisation relevant to the Post, i.e., Rural Development and Agri Financing / Law / Personnel / Marketing each of 30 Minutes duration carrying 50 marks each, spelt out in Para 10(I)(B), the minimum qualifying marks will be 50% (45% for Reserved Category of SC / ST / OBC / PWD). The candidate shall be required to qualify in each of the above Objective Test as per Cut-Off Marks determined on the basis of the Performance in each test, subject to a minimum of 40% (35% for Reserved Category) in the aggregate of 200 marks of the Objective Test. Candidates failing to obtain the minimum qualifying marks will not be declared to have cleared the Objective Test. **The Test of English Language is for qualifying purpose only. THERE WILL BE PENALTY @ ONE-FOURTH OR 0.25 OF THE MARKS ASSIGNED TO THAT QUESTION FOR WRONG ANSWERS MARKED IN ALL THE OBJECTIVE TESTS, WHICH WILL RESULT IN NEGATIVE MARKS FOR EVERY WRONG ANSWER. If the total of the penalty for a test is in fraction, the marks obtained will be rounded off to the nearest integer. The Minimum qualifying marks in each of these two Objective Tests shall be 50% (45% for Reserved Category). The marks obtained in this Objective Test will be added to the Marks obtained in the other Objective Test specified in Para 10(I)(i)(A) above, Interview Marks, and marks obtained in the Group Discussion, if held, for final Merit Ranking. 10 (II): GROUP DISCUSSION : A Group Discussion, where conducted, shall carry 50 marks and shall be conducted to assess the candidates presentation skills, leadership qualities, inter-personal qualities, team spirit, etc. The minimum qualifying marks for the Group Discussion would be 50% marks (45% for Reserved Category Candidates) (III): PERSONAL INTERVIEW : A Personal Interview of 50 marks shall be conducted to assess the candidates academic record, power of expression, clarity of thought, qualities of leadership, extra curricular activities, hobbies, general demeanour, behaviour, communication skills, etc. The minimum qualifying marks for the Personal Interview would be 50% marks (45% marks for Reserved Category Candidates). The PET will be held at Centres located at Ahmedabad, Bengalooru, Bhopal, Delhi, Lucknow, & Mumbai. Selection for the PET from among the candidates will be made on the priority of the date of the Demand Draft / Payorder and date of receipt of Application Form. Candidates belonging to the above categories who have not attended any PET earlier and are now desirous of availing themselves of such Pre-examination Training may indicate to that effect, with the PET Centre, at Point No.13 in the Application Form. All expenses for attending the Pre-Examination Training (PET) programme at the concerned Training Centre relating to travel, boarding, lodging, etc. will have to be made and borne by the candidate. The Bank has discretion to add to or delete from, the Centers for PET indicated above. 13: ACTION AGAINST CANDIDATES FOUND GUILTY OF MISCONDUCT: Candidates are advised in their own interest that they should not furnish any particulars / details / information or make statements that are false, incorrect, tampered, fabricated or should not conceal or suppress any material information while filling up the application form and submitting the attested copies of testimonials. In case it is detected at any time that the candidate has indulged in any of the abovementioned activities, he / she will not only be disqualified but he / she will be liable to be dismissed from the services of the bank at any time, even after being selected and after joining the Banks service. At the time of Written Examination / Group Discussion / Interview, if a candidate is (or has been) found guilty of: i) Using unfair means during the selection process, or ii) Impersonating or procuring impersonation by any person, or iii) Misbehaving in the Examination Hall & / or Group Discussion / Personal Interview Hall, or iv) Resorting to any irregular or improper means in connection with his / her candidature, including resorting to canvassing his candidature, or obtaining support for his/her candidature, by any means, such a candidate may, in addition to rendering himself/herself liable to criminal prosecution, shall also be liable: - to be disqualified from the selection process for which he / she is a candidate; - to be debarred, either permanently or for a specified period, from any examination or recruitment conducted by the Bank. Eligibility Conditions 3.1. Nationality: Only Indian Nationals would be eligible to apply. 3.2. Educational Qualifications: The candidate must have obtained Three years Diploma in Engineering in any of the following disciplines as on the last date of receipt of the applications i.e. 20/07/2009: (a) Three years Diploma in Engineering in - Telecommunications Engineering Electronics Engineering - Electrical Engineering Radio Engineering - Computer Engineering Instruments Technology Information Technology b) M.Sc. (Electronics) from a recognized institution/University. Other Conditions: a) Restriction of residence and Registration with employment exchange of the concerned SSA/ Telecom District in which the applicant applies is preferable and not mandatary. b) The selected candidates, before their appointment as Telecom Technical Assistant, have to undergo the prescribed course of training. c) The selected candidates shall have to execute a bond for a period of 2(two) years from the date of appointment as Telecom Technical Assistant in the proforma as specified by the Company. d) Candidates working under Central/State Govt./Public Sector Undertakings should send their applications through proper channel. 5. Mode of selection and nature of question paper: There shall be only one paper of multiple choice objective type of three hours duration as per the following details Part Marks Part- I General Ability Test 20 Part-ll Basic Engineering 90 Part-Ill Specialisation 90 The total number of questions in the paper shall be 200 and each question shall carry one mark. The standard of paper in General Ability test will be such as may be expected of an Engineering Diploma holder. The standard of papers in other subject will approximately be that of Diploma level of an Indian Polytechnic. In fhe specialization Part-Ill, a candidate has to attempt a common set of questions from the consolidated syllabus prescribed under Specialization Part III. 6. Minimum qualifying standards a) Qualifying marks in the paper will be 40% for the candidates of unreserved communities and 33% for the candidates of SC/ST/OBC category. b) As per the scheme and syllabus for the examination, there will be three parts of General Ability Test, Basic Engineering & specialization consisting of maximum marks of 20,90 and 90 respectively. The minimum qualifying marks in each of the above three parts of the question paper will be 30% for candidates belonging to OC category and 20% for candidates belonging to OBC/SC/ST category, i.e. the minimum passing marks in each of the 3 parts in respect of OC will be 6,27 and 27 respectively whereas in respect of OBC/SC/ST, it will be 4, 18, and 18 respectively. c) Relaxation of 2% in marks will be given to the Physically Handicapped candidates in each category (OC-PH, OBC-PH, SC-PH & ST-PH) 7 Award of Marks: There shall be Negative Marking. 25% marks i.e. 1/4 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer for the questions carrying 1 mark. (a) One (1) mark will be awarded for each correct answer. (b) Zero (0) mark will be awarded for the each un-attempted question. (c) The final (sub-total and total) marks obtained will not be rounded off. 8 Merit list & Waiting List: (i) Based on the marks obtained by candidates two types of lists will be prepared for each SSA (1) Merit list (for selected candidates) and (2) Waiting list consisting of all those candidates who have qualified the examination but do not find a place in the merit list of successful candidates, (ii) Waiting list shall remain valid for a period of one year from the date of declaration of result or the date-of notifying the DR Examination for the next recruitment year, whichever is earlier. (iii) Appearance of a candidates name in the waiting list will not confer any right on the candidate for claiming appointment in the company. 9. Concession for SC/ST candidates: a) Traveling Allowance to SC/ST candidates: The applicants belonging to SC/ST categories will be entitled to T.A. as per provisions of Ministry of Finance (Deptt. Category of Persons :GEN (UR) - General (Unreserved); SC Scheduled Caste; ST Scheduled Tribe; OBCOther Backward Classes XSM - Ex-Servicemen PWD - Persons With Disabilities (Physically Challenged Persons) are: OC Orthopaedically Challenged; HI - Hearing Impaired. VC - Visually Challenged (Blind / Partially Blind / Low Vision). An Orthopaedically Challenged (OC) person is one having a minimum of 40% physical defect or deformity which causes interference with the normal functioning of the bones, muscles and joints and is so certified by a Medical Board appointed by the State Government.
Visually Challenged (VC) (a) Blindness refers to a person who suffers from either of the following conditions: a. Total absence of sight, b. Visual acuity not exceeding 6/60 or 20/200 (Snellen) in the better eye with correcting lenses, Limitation of the field of vision subtending an angle of 20 degree or worse and so certified by a Medical Board appointed by the State Government. (b) A person with Low Vision means one with impairment of visual functioning even after treatment of standard refractive correction but who uses or is potentially capable of using vision for the planning or execution of a task with appropriate assisting device. iv) Deaf & Hearing Impaired (HI) : (a) Deaf are those persons in whom the sense of hearing is non-functional for ordinary purposes of life, i.e. with total loss of hearing in both ears. They do not hear and understand sounds at all - even with amplified speech. (b) Hearing impairment means loss of more than 60 decibels in the better ear in the conversational range of frequencies. 3. RESERVATION IN POSTS: (a) Reservation in posts for different categories of persons is as indicated in Para 2 above. (b) The number of vacancies as also the number of reserved vacancies is provisional and may vary according to the actual requirement of the Bank. (c) In case of non-availability of reserved candidates, the Bank reserves its right to interchange these categories as per Government Directives. (d) It is clarified that it may not be possible to employ candidates belonging to PWD Category in all Offices / Branches of the Bank and they will have to work in the post identified by the Bank as suitable for them. (e) The selected candidate is liable to be posted, at the sole discretion of the Bank and as per its exigencies, at any of the Banks Branches / Offices, anywhere in the State for which he has applied. 4. RELAXATION IN UPPER AGE LIMIT: The candidate should have completed a Minimum age of 18 years and should not have completed a Maximum age of 28 years as on 30.04.2009. Relaxation in the upper age limit for reserved posts is available as follows:i) Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe candidates by 5 years. ii) Other Backward Classes candidates by 3 years. iii) Persons with Disability (PWD) by 10 years on cumulative basis. The cumulative age relaxation for PWD category candidates will therefore be (a) by 15 years (10 + 5) for SC/ST; (b) by 13 years (10 + 3) for OBC; and (c) by 10 years (0 + 10) for General Candidates, subject to such cumulative relaxation not taking the age of the candidate beyond 50 years as on 30.04.2009. iv) All persons who have ordinarily been domiciled in Kashmir Division of J & K State during 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989 by 5 years. Persons eligible for age relaxation under this criteria must produce, if selected for interview, the domicile certificate from the District Magistrate in the Kashmir Division within whose jurisdiction he / she had ordinarily resided or any other authority designated in this regard by Government of Jammu & Kashmir to the effect that the candidate had ordinarily been domiciled in the Kashmir Division of the State of J & K during 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989. v) Widows, divorced women & women judicially separated from their husbands, who have not remarried- by 9 years i.e. Maximum Age of 37 years. vi) Ex-servicemen who fulfill the revised definition as laid down in Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Personnel & Administrative Reforms Notification No.36034/5/ 85/Estt(SCT) dated 27.10.1986, as amended from time to time, who have put in not less than 6 months continuous service in the Armed Forces shall be allowed the benefit of age relaxation by deducting the length of such service from his actual age and the resultant notional age does not exceed 36 years, subject to his not exceeding the Maximum Age of 50 years. The ex-serviceman status for the purpose of re-employment in Government of an Ex-Serviceman ceases once he has joined a government job on the civil side on re-employment, after availing of the benefits given to him as an ex-serviceman. 5. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: (i) Nationality / Citizenship: A candidate must be either (i) a Citizen of India or (ii) a subject of Nepal or (iii) a subject of Bhutan or (iv) a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st Jan. 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or (v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Govt. of India. A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the examination &/or interview but on final selection the offer of appointment may be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him by the Government of India. (ii) Applications from serving employees : Subject to their fulfilling the eligibility criteria, employees of Bank of India in the Subordinate Staff Cadre may also apply for the aforesaid posts. Such candidates, if selected, shall resign from their present positions in the bank and re-join the Banks service afresh. (iii) Educational Qualifications : The candidate should possess the following qualifications as on 30.04.2009. (1) Pass with 50% marks in the aggregate, either in the Higher Secondary School (HSC) Examination or Standard XII under the 10+2+3 pattern or Standard XI under the 11+4 pattern or Intermediate Examination or Pre-University Examination from a recognised Educational Board; Ex-servicemen who do not possess the above Civil Examination qualifications should have passed, while serving in the Armed forces, with a minimum of 60% marks, any of the following examinations recognized by the Government as equivalent of the Civil Examination of HSC / Pre-University, viz., (i) IAF Educational Test for promotion to the Rank of Corporal Indian University; (ii) Passing Out (Indian Navy) Examination conducted by Boys Training Establishment, Visakhapatnam. (2) Candidates having completed Foundation Course on Computer Awareness & Office Automation for duration of minimum 3 months from a Computer Institute, is desirable. The requirement of having completed the said Course will be waived in case of those candidates having Computer subject as part of the curriculum at the Pre- Degree / Degree level. (3) Knowledge of Regional Language of a particular State / Union Territory for which candidate apply, is desirable. (4) The Educational Qualifications prescribed above for the post is the minimum. (Provisional Degree Passing Certificate will be accepted only in case of those candidates who have passed the Degree Final Examination during the last 1 year, i.e. between 01.05.2008 and 30.04.2009 and the University has not conferred the Degree on the applicant Degree Certificate required to grant additional increment / fitment, if eligible) & (2) Year-wise / Semester-wise Mark sheet for each year / semester in respect of the Degree Examinations from the educational institution they have studied, and (3) Computer Course Passing Certificate from a Computer Training Institute in support of having completed the Foundation Course in Computer Awareness. (5) The Percentage of Marks stipulated for the Educational Qualification is for General (Unreserved) Category Candidates. Candidates belonging to the Reserved Category (SC / ST / OBC / PWD), filling in vacancies reserved for the relevant category, will be entitled to a relaxation of 5% Marks in relation to that stipulated for General Category Candidates. SELECTION METHODOLOGY: The final selection will be made on the basis of the candidates performance in Written objective test of 300 marks and Personal Interview of 100 Marks. In order to qualify for interview the candidate is required to obtain minimum 40 % marks in each objective test (35% marks for Reserved Category) and 50% marks in all the Objective Tests taken together. (45% marks for Reserved Category). Depending on the number of vacancies, only those candidates who have secured the minimum qualifying marks stipulated for Written Test and rank sufficiently high in the order of merit in the Written Test shall be called for a Personal interview in the ratio of 1:3. Mere pass in the Written Test shall not vest any right in a candidate for being called for Personal Interview. If sufficient number of reserved category candidates is not available, the provisions of extended Zone of consideration will be applied as per extent guidelines in this regard. State wise merit lists of candidates passing the Written Test and the Personal Interview will be prepared in descending order on the basis of the aggregate marks obtained in the Written Test & Interview, under the respective SC / ST / OBC / GEN Category. Appointment of the short-listed / selected candidate is subject to his / her being declared medically fit as per the requirement of the Bank. Such appointment and confirmation in the services of the Bank will also be subject to receiving satisfactory references from respectable referees, police verification of antecedents, caste / class verification, and other compliances. 7. Note: The above Descriptive Test is only a qualifying one not reckoned for merit ranking, i.e. one must obtain a minimum of 50% marks and 35% marks for SC/ST/OBC category but the marks so obtained are not added in the aggregate marks for preparing merit list. (C) Use of a Scribe / Paper Writer : A SCRIBE, to write the written test / examination, on behalf of a Visually Challenged (VC) candidate [Blind] & Orthopaedically Challenged (OC) candidate [whose writing speed is affected by Cerebral Palsy], may be used. In all such cases where a Scribe is used, the following rules will apply: The candidate will have to arrange his own Scribe at his own cost. The Scribe may be from any academic stream The academic qualification of the Scribe should be not more than XI Standard under the 10+2 system of education and should possess less marks than the candidate and in no case more than 60% marks. Both the candidate as well as the Scribe will have to give a suitable undertaking confirming that the Scribe fulfils all the stipulated eligibility criteria as mentioned above. In case it later transpires that the scribe did not fulfill any of the laid down eligibility criteria or had suppressed material facts, the candidature of the applicant will stand cancelled, irrespective of the result of the written examination. Candidates who use a Scribe will be eligible for extra time @ 20 minutes for every hour of the examination. Such candidates should visit our Zonal / contact Office as given in para 9 and get the name of scribe authorised by them one week before the test. (D) PERSONAL INTERVIEW. A personal interview of 100 Marks shall be conducted to assess the candidates academic record interpersonal relations adaptability, courtesy motivation, general demeanor and attitude towards work, communication skill etc. The minimum qualifying marks for interview would be 50% (45% for Reserved Category). 9.WRITTEN EXAMINATION / TEST CENTRES & ISSUE OF CALL LETTERS FOR THE WRITTEN EXAMINATION / TEST: The Written Examination/Test will be tentatively held on 09.08.2009, Sunday, at the Examination Centres indicated below. The full address of the venue of the Examination Centre will be advised in the Call Letters. The Call Letter will be sent to the eligible candidates by Post (UCP), well in advance of the date of written examination at the correspondence address given by the candidate in the Application Form. The Bank reserves the right to prepone / postpone the Written Examination Dates and / or to add to or delete or to modify / change the Examination Centre and the Venues and / or to cancel the Written Examination. 10.PRE-EXAMINATION TRAINING (PET) : The Bank intends, in consonance with the guidelines issued by the Government of India, to impart free non-residential Pre-Examination Training (PET) of six working days to a limited number of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribes at Centres located at Navi Mumbai, Pune, Bhopal, NOIDA (New Delhi), Kolkata & Chennai. Selection for the PET from among the candidates will be made on the priority of the date of online registration of Application Form. Candidates belonging to the above categories and desirous of availing themselves of such Pre-examination Training may indicate choice of PET Centre in the Application Form. All expenses for attending the Pre-Examination Training (PET) programme at the concerned Training Centre relating to travel, boarding, lodging, etc. will have to be made and borne by the candidate. The Bank has discretion to add to or delete from the Centers for PET indicated above. 11.ACTION AGAINST CANDIDATES FOUND GUILTY OF MISCONDUCT: Candidates are advised in their own interest that they should not furnish any particulars / details / information or make statements that are false, tampered, fabricated or should not suppress any material information while filling up the application form and submitting the attested copies of testimonials. In case it is detected at any time that the candidate has indulged in any of the abovementioned activities, he / she will not only be disqualified but he / she will be liable to be dismissed from the services of the bank at any time, even after being selected and after joining the Banks service. The engagement is purely Contractual for an initial period of One year which will be renewed subsequently on the basis of performance. Preference will be given to candidates having at least two years of experience in the field of Water Supply and Sanitation or any other related rural development projects.
