Solution:  We

know only about relation between G,A, B. Thus G has to be more than A and B. Thus G’s rank should not be lower than 5th (because 6th & 7th ranks may be for A & B).

Obviously C scores highest. Therefore option C is not possible. D scores 2nd thus B option is not possible. Option D is not possible by the basic conditions. We don’t have any information about E, thus we are not able to say anything about option E. We are sure that F cannot score least (he scores least only when D scores highest), thus A could be a possibility.

The possibilities can be : CGAFBDE Or CFGABDE We know that C has to get highest marks in this situation. 2nd option is not possible. A cannot be at 2nd rank because G cannot be topper – thus 3rd possibility is rejected. E cannot come at 4th or 5th (5th is already occupied). F can be at 2nd or 4th rank = thus 4th option is the best option.
