Subject: English Form: the VIIth Date: The 18th of February Teacher: Macnovit Natalia Topic: Schooling Type of lesson: mixed (fixation knowledge) Specific Competences: Communicative and Pragmatic Competences (Production of oral messages and written messages) Sub-competencies: 1.Identifying some everyday verbal norms in familiar situations referring to life. 2. Participating in simple oral communication on familiar topics. 3.3 Deducing the meaning of unfamiliar words from the context. 3.1 Selecting from the text the information necessary to solve the tasks. 4.1 Writing short logically structured dialogues using logical connectors and linking words. Operational Objectives:  to practice speaking about education in Moldova;  to imput, consolidate and practice in speech active vocabulary on „Schooling”;  to practice reading for general and specific information;  to practice asking/answering questions;  to practice making up sentences using Conversational Formulas. Resources (materials used):  Textbooks, copybooks, pictures. Strategies: 1. Methods:  Communicative, Competency-based, Grammar, Translation. 2. Techniques:  Brainstorming, power point film, crossword, interview, games, exercises. 3. Forms of activities:  Group work, individual work, whole class work. Time of lesson: 45 minutes

PURPOSE

T asks Ss to look at a picture, to describe it and to predict the topic of the lesson.

Ss describe the picture and guess the topic of the lesson.

They write, read and translate the new words in their vocabularies. Ss comment on the title of the text and make predictions on its content. They read and underline the unknown words. Together with their colleagues and teacher they explain and translate the unknown words.
