Rejoice! and Speak Up! We had great reasons to rejoice last Sunday. Two erring brothers returned to their Savior! First, it was announced that Chuck Russell was restored to faithfulness on Friday. He met with brothers Jack Steele and Harry Middleton and admitted his need to return to faithfulness. It was such a joy to hear that good news!

Worship With Us Sunday: Worship 9 AM & 6 PM * Bible Classes 10:20 AM Wednesday: Bible Classes 7 PM

A Pressing Prescription Jeremiah recommends: “Stand by the roads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is, and walk in it, and find rest for your souls” (Jeremiah 6:16, ESV). Stand by the roads. Pause, think, take time to examine and know. Make the right choice. John warned, “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world” (1 John 4:1). Look. Investigate. God invites investigation.

Andy Kizer “I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God,” John said, “that you may know that you have eternal life” (1 John 5:13).

me,” said Jesus (John 6:45). “Comes to me” is a phrase that suggests a way, a path, or a road. Seek it, and you will find it (cf. Matthew 7:7, 8; Acts 17:27, 28).

The same thing may be said about all of God’s word. It is given that we may be completely furnished for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16, 17), but it must be studied (2 Timothy 2:15).

Walk in it. Action is needed. Personal effort is necessary. Knowledge is useless without practice.

Ask. Inquire. They who walk in the old paths get directions. None can find this path at random. No one walks on it ignorant of where he/she is. “Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to

“You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone” (James 2:24).

Then, at the conclusion of the lesson Sunday morning, Allen Moore was restored to faithfulness. Allen has been visiting with us for some time, and is the adult son of Tommy and Frankie Moore. He also shared his desire to be recognized as a member of the Lebanon Road family, and we are pleased with his decision to return to Christ. Please take a few moments and encourage these two men as they continue to grow and mature in Christ. May God help us as we seek to teach and encourage these two good men.

Adam Faughn As I was writing about Allen and Chuck, my mind couldn’t help but think of others who have been unfaithful in attendance, attitude, or action. We have several more who need to truly “rededicate” themselves in the faithful service of the Lord. We also have thousands upon thousands around us daily who need to hear of the Savior! We cannot be content to “keep house!” The eternal soul of your parent, child, coworker, classmate, neighbor, friend, or loved one is at stake. Who do you know who needs to know more about Jesus? Who do you know who needs to be restored to faithfulness? Speak up!!! Don’t be silent any longer. Share the good news of Christ with him or her. Share your love and concern for his or her soul. Eternity is at stake, and we need to be teaching, loving, and encouraging every person we can. Don’t wait until Sunday.

More than an invitation. This is an imperative! —Family Newsletter 9th Avenue church of Christ Haleyville, AL

LET’S NOT CONTRIBUTE TO EVIL! There are certain things that God hates, as we are told in Proverbs 6. Although we may not be involved in any of these activities or thoughts specifically we may be participating unknowingly. It has been known for some time now, that Pepsico has been involved in supporting the homosexual agenda. In fact, they were founders of a segment of the LGBT, (Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, Trans-sexual) in the Chicago area. They were one of the big contributors for the gay pride parades all around the country. They blatantly ignore those who attempt to get them to desist. Here is where guilt by association may come into play. Pepsico is made up of the following: KFC, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, Pepsi Cola, and all Frito Lay products. In purchasing these products or doing business at the Pepsico-owned establishments we are contributing to the support and promotion of the LGBT. I know that none of us would intentionally promote such a life style. Good News Today, aired on Channel 14 on Sunday mornings at 7:30 has been following this activity on the part of Pepsico for some time now and they will continue to give information as to their activities. Contrary to some thinking, the Bible does condemn homosexuality and the so-called alternate lifestyle (Gen. 19; Lev. 18:22, 20:13; Deut. 23:17; Romans 1).

JD’s Jargon Hello everyone! Looking at the schedule yesterday, we realized how many exciting activities we have going on for our youth group! This weekend we are at FreedHardeman University for their annual youth rally entitled R.U.S.H. Please pray for our safe travels. We hope to see you Sunday evening! I am looking forward to helping with a VBS October 4-7. Main Street church of Christ in Mt. Pleasant, TN has their VBS in the fall. They have asked me to return this year to lead singing and teach their teenage class. Please pray for their successful endeavor! October 23-24 will be our youth costume party and lock-in. This event was a lot of fun last year and looks to be even more fun this year! I hope all the young people are already getting their costumes ideas! Finally, we can't wait to travel to Beech Island, SC to visit on October 30 to November 1. During our visit we will also have a trunk-or-treat with them. This trip is not limited to our youth group. If you would like to go, please sign-up on the wall by the teen room. It is a great time to worship God. Have a wonderful day! Thank you very much! --JD :)
