Healthy and active lifestyle - What responsibility to whom? Stakeholder Lunchtime Workshop organised by Fondation EurActiv (EurActiv Network Office, 1 Bd. Charlemagne, 1041 Brussels)
Even though everybody agrees that eating habits, physical activity, smoking and drinking affect our health - opinions on who is responsible of what we eat, how much we take exercise, drink or smoke seems to diverge. To exchange views on the respective roles and responsibilities of the various stakeholders linked to different lifestyle-related health determinants, Fondation EurActiv will organise on the 16th of October a special lunchtime stakeholder workshop/discussion session. Some of the contributors will be: MEP Pal Schmitt (European Parliament, Vice Chairman, Committee on Culture and Education), Sabine Nafziger (CIAA - Director of Consumer Information, Diet and Health issues), Caroline Bollars (EPHA - Policy Officer), Toivo Hurme (Finnish Permanent Representation - Health Attaché), Siada El Ramly, (Senior Health and Food Consultant, Kellen Europe) PROGRAMME 12.00 – 12.30: Lunch and Networking 12.30 – 13.45: Discussion The aim is to exchange views on powers of regulators, industry as well as consumers themselves with regard acting on and encouraging adoption of a healthy lifestyle. Towards a comprehensive approach to a healthy and active lifestyle: How to integrate promotion of healthy lifestyle into all policies? What can stakeholders representing different determinants and aspects of healthy lifestyle learn from each other? Empowering individuals to opt for a healthy and active lifestyle: Where to start? Who should take the lead?
