Pastor Brian Carroll will be sharing with us about marriage today. He has been married to his wife, Liz, for 17 years. They have two adopted daughters, Ellie (12) and Emma (8). He has a degree in Culinary Arts and had a previous career as a chef and caterer. He shared his cooking skills with us last year—yummy!! He also has a Masters in Counseling and has been working as a Family Life Pastor for 15 years (at Cypress Bible Church for the past 7 1/2 years). He enjoys cooking, refinishing furniture, spending
time with the kids, unusual restaurants, and playing Wii.
The Tunnel of Love While collecting all of my freebies at MOPS convention this fall, I picked up a magnet. “Do Your Kids a Favor…” it says, “Love Your Spouse.” As moms, we do so many things throughout our day to help our children grow, learn, and thrive. But, as moms of preschoolers, how often does loving our spouse come to mind as something essential to our child rearing? Sure, we love our spouse, but do we really take the time or make the effort to show it at the end of a hectic day. So as Valentine’s Day approaches, consider what will make your spouse feel loved. It’s most likely something quite different than the flowers, chocolates, or peace and quiet that you crave. Give him some extra praise next week, play Mario Kart with him, watch a sports recap show, or better yet, go to bed early. Do your kids a favor, love your spouse.
My biggest surprise about motherhood was… how much God used (and still uses) my children to teach me to depend on Him!
Time flies when you are having fun. Happy

That’s The Ticket It’s only a month until the MOPS Garage Sale on March 7th. Start saving your donations and spreading the word to all of your friends. Set-up will begin on Thursday, March 5th. Thanks to everyone that came to the garage sale committee meeting yesterday. Let Lisa or Brandi know if you want to help but weren’t able to be there. Creative Connection meets at 7pm every 2nd Friday in the Outreach House. The next meeting is Feb. 13th. There is an optional $5 craft project,
Coming Attractions and time to work on any of your own creative projects like scrapbooking and quilting. School aged children are welcome to craft along side of you. Reduce the clutter in your house! Bring your old issues of MOMSense or other parenting magazines to be reused by Care Net Pregnancy Center. Also donate your unused hotel freebies at the next MOPS meeting. And recycle your old batteries at your discussion group table in preparation for our April 17th “Go Green Day” meeting.
Kiddie Corner Looking for a creative project to do this Valentine’s Day with your kids? Write or print the different attributes that LOVE is and is not from 1 Corinthians 13:4-8a and let your child glue then on red paper and decorate. From: http://www.teacherhelp.org/valentines_day.htm

Easy Chocolate Mousse 1/2 cup whole milk 3 tablespoons sugar 1 cup chocolate chips 3 large egg whites In a small saucepan over medium heat stir together the milk and sugar until the milk is hot, but not boiling, and the sugar is dissolved. Place the chocolate chips in a blender. Pulse a few times to make smaller bits. Pour the hot milk over the chips. Run the blender on high until combined, a few seconds. Add the egg whites and run the blender on high until light, about 1 minute. Transfer the mousse to 4 small serving cups. Cover with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator until firm, about 3 hours.
