Morning 7:45am – 9:00am: Literacy Reading: Read a book of your choice to your child. Use the bookmark in your child’s reading folder to discuss the story or features of the book. Response: Choose a response that relates to the book you read. Help your child with their choice. Orally retell the story in your own words Paint / draw your favourite part of the book and tell why it is your favourite part Retell the story by acting it out Make a model of your favourite character Design a new front cover for the book Write a different ending for the story Find out more facts about something in the book (books, internet) Writing Handwriting – choose your favourite part of the story you read this morning. In your neatest handwriting copy 2 sentences out. Remember capital letters, shape, size and direction of the letters. Writer’s Workshop Choose one of the options below to write about: 1. Use this sentence starter for creative writing – “If I was the teacher of my class for the day, I would.......” 2. Write a recount about your weekend.
