NYRRF Young Professionals Committee Leadership Positions & Responsibilities June 2009-June 2010 Please note that positions #1 – 4 are expected to attend all committee meetings and events. Of course, life happens, but as leaders of our YPC, you will become the “face” of our committee and thus your attendance is critical.

1. Chair a. Opportunity to provide structure and direction to a growing committee b. Responsible for all aspects of our YPC—events, policies, future plans, member retention, etc. c. Prepare meeting agendas and run all YPC meetings, in conjunction with NYRRF staff d. Spearhead brainstorming sessions (and provide reality check!) for all YPC events e. Assign follow up research/work as needed, following committee meetings f. Work with other Leaders to ensure productivity and growth 2. Vice Chair – Events & Membership a. Work with Event Chairs to ensure plans are progressing on

schedule, etc. Assist when necessary—venue research, determining ticket prices, insurance, and other logistics b. Participate in new member recruitment (brainstorming and execution); Devise member retention strategies c. Strategically position the YPC to raise significantly more “friends” and funds for NYRRF’s youth running programs d. Assist Chair as needed 3. Secretary a. Take detailed meeting notes, email to group for distribution, and post to blog b. Assist with creating event invitations and other materials, in conjunction with NYRRF staff and professional designers 4. Treasurer a. Participate in event budget discussions & decisions b. Handle cash at each event and provide an accounting of tickets sold, raffle prize winners, net revenue, etc. 5. Event Chair- 1 per event, 3 total (Spring, Fall, Winter)

a. Form a committee to assist you in planning the event, under your leadership

b. Organize all details of a given event—venue selection & negotiations, scheduling, coordinating volunteers, raffle prize solicitation, etc.
