Programs and services are the tools that the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne uses everyday to achieve their mission of putting Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. Founded in 1858, the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne began with the focus of improving the quality of life for all in our community and that rings true today. In 2008, the YMCA served approximately 62,709 members and 21,407 program participants. 9,086 of those individuals received financial aid to enable their families to have memberships and participate in our programs. All of the money raised from this event will directly benefit those who qualify for the YMCA’s financial assistance. These dollars help children, families and individuals who otherwise would not be able to participate in YMCA programs. R
