Description: Help organize and be active with Youth & Government program at Singley Academy, visit all Y&G clubs with Teen Director once a month, conduct a Teen Focus Group at the monthly visit and collect data (i.e. helpful websites used, program needs, successes, and failures etc.) enter into Irving Y& G database), attend Jr. Y&G meetings (2 clubs) to serve as mentors in presentation skills and building confidence of middles school teens. Assist middle school students with researching and writing their legislative bills for district meet and plan 2 big projects & fundraisers throughout the year, and attend meetings with Teen Director to serve as a spokesperson for Youth and Government. Meet with Irving City Officials to speak about programs and represent teen program participants. Plan Irving Wide Mock District Meet and District Fundraiser and Closing Ceremony. Specifics: 2 hours per week- Mentoring Jr. Y&G (Tentative: Held on Wednesday & Thursday 4:30-5:30) 3-5 hours week- Project Planning beginning September of Fall and February-March of Spring 2-4 hours week- Focus Group, Data collection and Entry, and Resource Location for Irving Youth and Government Weekly update with Teen Director on progress
