Research Assistant Feb. 2008 to Dec. 2008 OCEAN Group of System Integration & Silicon Implementation Laboratory, National Chiao Tung University, Hsinchu, Taiwan h Worked on improvement of traditional low-density parity-check (LDPC) architecture for channel decoder, using stochastic concept to reduce routing complexity and requirements for hardware. Utilized the linear feedback shift register (LFSR) and the cellular automata (CA) methods in random number generators (RNGs) to improve accuracy of C simulations. h Successfully applied result to IEEE 802.15.3c Standard to obtain performance curve that approached or bettered that derived from traditional algorithms. Further obtained chip density of >90% from implementation in a real chip, and constructed GUI simulation platform with BCB code for demonstration to a panel of faculty members.
