There’s a restful blue-lit ambience to the dashboard lighting, where easily accessible dash compartments are at the driver’s fingertips. It’s the little touches that can help to make any drive in the i30 truly exceptional. Enjoy the state-of-the-art audio technology which brings the i30 to surpass all competition. There’s a USB, auxiliary (AUX) and an iPod® input located within the centre console which enables an iPod®, MP3 player or external music device to be plugged directly into the sophisticated audio system. Enjoy the extremely clear and vibrant sound through the sophisticated 6-disc in-dash MP3 compatible CD player with six speaker sound system (Elite variants only). Control your music, iPod® or external music device using the center dash console controls or simply control it all using the ultra convenient steering wheel controls. In the i30, your music goes where you do.

The tilting and telescopic steering column allows adjustment of the steering wheel height and proximity to provide the ideal driving position.

Crystal clear analogue instruments with a blue lit information centre are immediately easy to read and easy on the eye. The thoughtfully placed display panel sits in the heart of the instrument cluster to offer the driver optimised visibility, at a glance, of essential information.

A fold-down central armrest features two generous cup holders for the convenience of rear seat passengers (Elite variants only).

The front central armrest provides a dual storage compartment, ensuring there is ample space for everything from CDs to an MP3 player or wallet (2.0 petrol and 1.6 diesel only).

Integrated protection Safety first Just as i30 is designed to be the epitome of style, comfort, power and economy, it also sets extremely high standards for safety. Passenger safety is paramount and Hyundai places huge emphasis on helping drivers to avoid accidents from happening in the first place. i30 is fitted with several remarkable features that help the driver to maintain control even in critical situations. These include the reassurance of ESP, an advanced safety feature designed to avoid serious accidents and Electronic Brake-Force Distribution (EBD) that applies optimum pressure to individual brakes in emergency braking situations. i30’s safety also includes BAS (Brake Assist), a system that will apply maximum force to the brakes during emergency stopping situations. These braking technologies work in harmony with the i30’s ABS (Anti-skid Braking System) for greater security and reassurance. Safety is built in to every aspect of the i30 and it begins with a reinforced chassis, rigid cabin and crumple zones designed to cocoon occupants and absorb impact. These work in harmony with the SRS dual front, side and front-to-rear curtain air bags to de-power the effects of a collision. In the unfortunate event of a crash or sudden impact, front seat belt pretensioners and three point diagonal ELR seatbelts will hold and support all i30 occupants, while load limiters provide a slow and steady release at a safe steady speed, reducing the chance of torso damage. No detail has been overlooked to ensure the safety of you and your passengers. The i30 also contains a separate safety pack that’s included in every i30. Hopefully you’ll never need it, but it’s nice to know it’s there, just in case.

ESP – Electronic Stability Programme The i30’s ESP system, an advanced standard safety feature, helps you remain in control of your vehicle during critical situations to avoid serious accidents. The ESP system achieves this by comparing the driver’s intention with the momentary vehicle behaviour and controls the Antilock Braking (ABS) and Traction Control Systems (TCS) accordingly, to initiate the appropriate corrective action by selectively braking individual wheels and controlling engine power. This stabilises the vehicle and keeps it on track.

The i30’s safety pack To give you a little more peace of mind, every i30 is equipped with its own safety pack – a fire extinguisher, reflective safety vest and first aid kit.

Defined driving force Intelligent power The i30 offers you a choice of three engines with an impeccable performance pedigree. While each one has its own very desirable attributes, all deliver the critical ingredients of performance, endurance and fuel economy that are the hallmarks of the i30. The new generation 1.6 DOHC 16 valve Gamma petrol engine delivers an impressive 89 kW of power at 6200 rpm and 153 Nm of torque at 4200 rpm. CVVT (Continuously Variable Valve Timing) is also featured ensuring it achieves maximum power and torque smoothly and effortlessly with excellent fuel economy.

1.6 CVVT DOHC 16 valve petrol i30 engine

For those seeking enhanced sporty power performance, i30 offers a highly responsive 2.0 DOHC 16 valve Beta petrol engine that achieves an outstanding 105 kW of power at 6000 rpm and torque of 186 Nm at 4600 rpm. The 2.0 petrol also features CVVT for increased fuel economy while delivering effortless power. Diesel offers outstanding economy and clean burning properties, and you’ll find all this and more in the superb i30 1.6 litre turbocharged Common Rail Direct injection (CRDi) diesel engine option. It provides a very impressive 85 kW of power at 4000 rpm and 255 Nm of torque at 2000 rpm. This state of the art diesel complies with stringent EURO IV emission regulations while delivering superior power, performance and economy.

2.0 CVVT DOHC 16 valve petrol i30 engine

Gear changing in the i30 is responsive, smooth and effortless. An advanced automatic 4-speed transmission provides easy, efficient and economical shifts. The 5-speed manual transmission available in the 1.6 petrol and diesel models, will deliver silky, impeccably smooth shifting for ultimate ‘hands on’ driving control. The compact folding ignition key provides remote controlled keyless entry to the central locking including a boot release. It also controls the onboard burglar alarm.

The map reading lights give directional light onto both front seats whenever needed. And there’s also a handy storage bin to keep your sunglasses from getting scratched or crushed.
