Telepathy—noun—The ability to communicate thoughts without speaking Telepathy is made of two parts, both of which come from Greek: tele-, which means over a distance, and –pathy, which relates to feelings or emotions. Together this makes telepathy mean that a thought or feeling is being sent over some distance, from one person to another. The prefix tele- is used in many other words, including television, telephone, and telegraph. These are all technologies to transmit images, sound, or messages across distance. Sample sentence: My twin sister and I not only speak that weird twin language, but we also seem to have a sort of telepathy, and we can each often understand what the other is thinking without saying a word.
