Library Letter News from the St. Marys Community Public Library

6:30 – 8:00 PM. Seasonal refreshments and activities will be provided, Santa will be available for photos, and it should be the ideal time to welcome our new staff and board. I hope to see you there! Susan Heckler Pittman Library Director

From Our Director

Staff Changes at the Library he Library rings in 2008 with a few changes in the staff. Linda Priddy Meeks retired after serving many years in Youth Services where she entertained children, parents, and teachers with her wonderful story times, outreach visits and other special programs. Linda also worked the circulation desk, and many people will miss seeing her there, too. Best Wishes to Linda!

,

We hired Marilyn Dickman and Diana Nelson, both of whom previously worked for the library, on a part time basis. Marilyn currently works for the St. Marys City Schools in the library at East. Diana has taught, works in her husband’s business, and is a Notary. They’ve made the transition an easy one for our patrons as well as the staff.

The staff was saddened earlier this year when long-time board member Robert Hirschfeld passed away. Bob was influential during the building and renovation project that was completed in 2002, and his wit and charm are deeply missed.

Bill is an associate professor in political science at the Ohio State University, Lima. He resides in St. Marys, and several of our library patrons know him as a guest scholar for the “Let’s Talk About It” Book Discussion Program.
