FULLHOUSE T: OFFENSIVE LINE PLAY Our philosophy is based on angle blocking. Everything is blocked “down” or lead as described in our rules below. There are Play Side Rules and Backside Rules. When a tag word is added, only then is a change made *Iowa Wing T Blocking from Coach Forrest Evasheski 1950’s

BACKSIDE RULES: 6. 7.

Backside guard either pull/traps unless base or power tag word is called. Backside Tackle has Arc Block to the near block of the center. You protect your inside, unless a tag word is used for you to pull.

Backside Rules: 1. 2.

3.

Backside guard either pull/traps unless base or power tag word is called. Backside Tackle has Arc Block to the near block of the center. You protect your inside, unless a tag word is used for you to pull. Backside Tight End blocks the middle third with an inside release.

Playside Rules: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.

Hole called is LEAD First man inside the hole called is post. If nobody to post, then lead Second man inside the hole called (if off-tackle or sweep is called) has the OIL RULE. On inside-Linebacker. First man outside the hole called has linebacker across Second man outside the hole called has linebacker across

Tag Words: *Tiger  *Double Pull  *Cross Block  *Base  *Power  *Base Reverse 

Final Thoughts: *If in doubt who to block, remember to block down. Stay on the path  *Block an area, don’t worry about who you block  “Angle Blocking within the Zone”  Film clips 

Spread Offense: Run Game We will have four (4) run plays from our formations: 2. Zone Strong/Weak 3. Zone Read Strong/Weak 4. Option Strong/Weak (will vary from week to week lead or load option

Playside/Backside Adjustments Backside Tackle: *Reduce split if threat to inside *Blocking angle: Inside knee of DL Backside Tight End: *Reduce split if necessary. This is not as important as the backside tackle. *Take an outside release Backside Guard: *Be off the ball as deep as possible *Trap the first wrong color jersey

Spread Offense: Run Game We will have four (4) run plays from our formations: 2. Zone Strong/Weak 3. Zone Read Strong/Weak 4. Option Strong/Weak (will vary week to week on lead or load option) 5. Counter Strong/Weak 6. QB Sweep

Zone Strong/Weak Tailback will receive handoff and find open seam to the call (strong or weak formation). QB fakes counter away. We want to run the zone to the 3 technique. Will use Razor or Larry to switch from Right/Left

Zone Read Strong/Weak QB will either handoff to the TB strong/weak or keep it on the counter action. Rule for the QB: If you think the backside DE/OLB can make the play on the TB, pull the ball. If we want to call this play instead of the read, then we will trap with the tackle.

Option Strong/Weak On Lead: 2. 3.

QB get down hill fast and make the end man on the LOS make a decision. Tailback must get into option phase. We can have the TB be on the side of the option or on the away. We use both

On Load: 

We designate by formation who will block the end man on the line of scrimmage. Depending on the ability of the QB, we want him to carry the ball as long as possible.

Counter Strong/Weak 1. 2.

TB lines up opposite of the side called for the QB We will trap with the tackle or guard to off set the keys by the defense/scheme

Quarterback Sweep 1. 2.

Can be out of any of the three formations, but works well with the Tight Set (With TE) TB lead blocks for the QB
