FREE SWIMMING AT CITY PARK POOL! Dear residents, Join your friends and neighbors at City Park Pool for a free swim day on Saturday, August 8th, from 6 – 8 pm. Contact your CC for a waiver, which is required for all participants. Lifeguards will be provided at the event, but parents are required to supervise their children. For more information, contact your CC or the UV managers at 1 – 5521. FREE WEEKEND AT ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK Dear Residents, Enjoy free admission to Rocky Mountain National Park on August 15th and 16th, and enjoy the beautiful outdoors of Colorado! PARKING LOT REPAIR IN 1600 WEST PARKING LOT On Monday, July 20th, parking lot repairs will begin in the 1600 West parking lot. The repairs will take approximately two days to complete. Residents are asked not to park their cars in the area around buildings 22 and 23 from Monday to Wednesday. All areas to be repaired will be marked with bright orange paint, and residents are asked not to park their cars around the marked areas beginning on Monday. Cars parked near the repair work may be blocked by heavy equipment and unable to be moved for day or more, until the repairs are complete. Also, parents please do not let your children play in the parking lot during this time. EMERGENCY NOTIFICATION INFORMATION: Dear residents, if you would like to register for the CSU or Ft. Collins emergency notification system, log onto http://ramweb.colostate.edu or http://www.leta911.org. Currently only CSU students can register for the ramweb system, but non-student family members can resister with the city system. FREE BICYCLE HELMETS STILL AVAILABLE! Residents, please be aware that no clothes lines are allowed on patios of any of our apartments. The Apartment Life handbook states on page 30: “… Porches and balconies are NOT to be used for clothes drying…” Questions? Call the managers at 1 – 5521.

WORLDFEST 2009! Coming Saturday, September 26th ALL VOLUNTEERS & THEIR FAMILIES WILL EAT FREE AT WORLDFEST! Residents, we need your help in the biggest program of the year at University Village. You may help with: • cooking food • cultural booths–representing your country • children’s games • baking a dessert • performing Mark the date in your calendars and let us know if you can volunteer for this program. PRESCHOOL PLAYDATE Dear Parents with children 0 – 5 years old, Please join us on Tuesday, July 21st at the UV Center from 10 – 11 am to meet other parents with small children. Parents can mingle as the children play together with the UV toys. Each child must have at least one parent present. Contact Alyssa, Carrie, Jessica, or Arnaud for more information. Trash Regulations: Residents, when you take out your trash, please place the trash INSIDE THE DUMPSTERS. Do not leave your trash outside the dumpsters or it will attract rodents and make a lot of mess in our community. Thank you, UV Management. NO TRASH on Patios: Residents must not leave any trash bags on their patio/s or outside their apartments for any period of time. Apartment Life handbook states in page 20: “Large commercial dumpsters are provided in parking lots for disposal of all trash. All trash must be placed inside the dumpsters. Non-soluble materials such as disposable diapers, sanitary napkins, etc. should be placed in the dumpsters, not disposed through the toilet. Trash, trash containers, and recyclables MUST BE KEPT INSIDE the apartment and emptied regularly. Trash left outside is a health hazards and attracts insects and rodents.

Flooded Canals: Canals inside and around University Village will be flooded with irrigation water soon. The water will be deep and fast and very dangerous. Many parts of these canals are fenced but other areas may not be fenced. We ask all parents to talk to their children about staying away from the canals. Remember it is the parent responsibility to supervise their children at all times and all areas. Electronic Weekly Calendar: If you want to help us save more trees and better our global environment you may request a copy of our weekly calendar electronically. I will honor any request from any resident for an electronic copy of our weekly calendar. To do that send me the following information: Name, apartment number, if you are on annual or monthly contract, and active email. Discounted Renaissance Fair Tickets Available at I-House! Get to Know Colorado by visiting the Colorado Renaissance Festival, held every Saturday and Sunday until August 1 - 2! Buy your discounted tickets at I-House. Adult tickets are $15.00, Kids tickets (ages 5 – 12) are $7, and children under 5 get in free! At I-House only, buy one ticket, and for an additional $5 you can buy a $10 food coupon booklet! RED BOXES at 1600: The red containers placed at 1600 east dumpster/recycling area is for donation of mildly used clothes and shoes. We are at the end of the semester and some of our residents are leaving soon or doing the end of the year cleaning. This is an excellent chance for you to show that you care. Place any used and usable clothes and shoes inside these red containers. It will be used for a non profit organization. LIVE AT THE LAGOON CONCERT SERIES AT CSU! Dear residents, Are you looking for something to do on Wednesday evenings this summer? If so, stop by the Lagoon at CSU for the summer concert series. Every Wednesday from July 15 – August 12, 6:30 – 8:30 pm, catch different live performances at the Lagoon!
