HELP RADNOR TOWNSHIP AND THE MAIN LINE REMEMBER THE WAYNE NATATORIUM!
The Wayne Natatorium existed in North Wayne, PA from 1895 – 1903. Where Willow Avenue stands today once stood the largest outdoor freshwater pool in the country, and maybe the world. It was the site of national level swim meets and one of the coaches, the then champion mile swimmer of the world, Mr. George Kistler, later went on to found the swim and water polo teams at the University of Pennsylvania. On September 17th, 2009, The Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission approved the Wayne Natatorium for a historical marker.
