WASTE COOKING OIL
WHY? •
•
•
The oil will block your house drains and the sewers. The soil will become sealed off and your plants cannot grow.
HOW TO DISPOSE YOUR COOKING OIL WASTE? •
Bacteria will accumulate where the oil is poured.
•
Aquatic life might not get enough oxygen.
•
Pest and rodents will be attracted to the oil.
Small amount of cooking oil, such as meat drippings, can be soaked up with a paper towel and thrown into the trash.
•
POUR the used cooking oil into a sturdy closed-lid coffee can, and dispose of it in the trash.
•
When there is a recycling centre for waste cooking oil, send the oil you have collected for recycling.
•
In small quantity pour the oil onto a compost pile. (visit http://www.compost-bin.com).
