A Walk Around East Looe Great views of the estuary, West Looe, Looe Island, coast to Rame Head. Connections to Barbican, Plaidy and Looe Bay Holiday Park. (see notes (A), (B) and (C).) About 1¼ hours, no stiles, some surface mud, no busy roads, steep hills, refreshments and toilets readily available. From the Rose Garden (outside the TIC office) walk towards the bridge. Continue along Station Road, then turn right into Shutta (A), beside the Globe Inn. Just beyond the East Looe Trust car-park, on the right, turn right beside Glenfeaden (House), and take the footpath to the left - signed “To Barbican”. This steep path emerges on Dawes Lane (B). Turn right and follow this track until the junction with Elm Tree Road; turn left, and then keep left at the junction, the road becomes Pendrim Road. Continue on this side road, generally keeping left, to emerge on Barbican Hill. Turn right down the hill until, at the sharp right bend, there is a footpath to the left (up concrete steps), just past Klymiarven Close. Keep to the right, this path continues through trees until opening up on to The Wooldown, with the Millenium Brazier (C) on the hilltop. Follow the path keeping the hedge to the right; at the junction of paths, with a wooden seat, bear to the right until another junction - turn hard right, this is the Coast Path back to East Looe. At the cross-roads with signs - to The Beach and Town Centre either continue down-hill into the centre of Looe, or turn right, uphill, into Barbican Hill. When the road narrows, turn left into the alleyway and follow it to emerge on Shutta Road, beside the re-furbished water well. Turn left down hill to enter Fore Street opposite the Rose Garden. (A) Shutta continues to Barbican Road. (B) footpath opposite to Barbican Shops. (C) across hilltop to Barbican and Plaidy.
