West Africa Advanced School of Theology The Mission: The West Africa Advanced School of Theology (WAAST) exists to train active African pastors, evangelists, and missionaries at the college level. They learn to live by the WAAST motto: “Training for God's Mission through Pentecostal Servanthood.” WAAST graduates serve in His harvest field in many ways. They serve as leaders of their national or district church organizations, teach in Bible institutes, or enter other lands as missionaries. WAAST, which includes its main campus in Lomé, Togo, and 10 extension centers, serves 21 countries in West and Central Africa—an area larger than the United States with more than 9 million Assemblies of God adherents. The Church is exploding across Africa. Churches are being planted at an astonishing rate. But there is one problem: Where do we get pastors for these new works? Some countries have literally hundreds of churches without trained pastors to lead them. At WAAST we train those who, in turn, train leaders for their nations.

The Need: As enrollment at the WAAST main campus continues to grow, the need for adequate classroom space has become critical. Classes are often held in missionary housing, as there are no empty classrooms. The Present Classroom Building

The Solution: By adding a second story to one of our

existing classroom buildings, we can accommodate up to 100 more students in our Bachelors-, Masters-, and Doctoral-level classes.

The Cost: The second-story classrooms will cost an estimated $90,000 for 3420 sq. ft. of masonry construction. Proposed New Construction—Front View
