Are children a blessing? Rebuttals 1) Government implemented 5- day workweek / more pro- family policies/ grandparents can take care of the children. 2) Government gives subsidies to promote childbearing. 3) Money can always be earned but for children, you cannot have them once you past your child- bearing age. 4) There will be a change in culture as there is an unbalance between male and female proportions.

0%(Counter Argument ) 1) Social - Parents have no time to take care of their children - A hindrance to careerminded individuals. 2) Economy - It costs a lot to bring up children before they can contribute back to society. 3) Social/ Culture - Females are less wanted in certain cultures.

Limitations of Argument

1) Social/ Economy - Support the family. (e.g. for retired parents, their children can go out to work) 2) Cultural - Continue family lineage. (e.g. passing on of cultural practices of an ethnic group) 3) Moral/Social - Able to take care of the aged. - Security during old age. 4) Religious - Children are gifts from God. 5) Security -More manpower is required to defend the country. 6) Politics/ Social - Children will grow up to be future leaders of the nation.

1) Children can be a burden when they are not ready to support. 2) Female babies do not pass on family line, only cultural practices. 3) Most young people have the tendency to send the elderly to nursing homes. 4) Not everyone subscribe to the same beliefs. 5) None. 6) Only if they were brought up well.
