Are Children A Blessing? Opposing Argument Economic -burden on family financially Social -A hindrance to careerminded parents, especially unprepared parents Social/ Psychological -children who do not receive enough parental attention may end up as delinquents Crime -become source of problems that involve paedophilia, human trafficking, prostitution

Rebuttal May be short-termed, as children behave differently as they grow older Not all children will take care of their parents in the future

Cultural/ Social -passing on of lineage and tradition

Some children may not want to follow tradition

International Police Defence that helps to keep tabs on the crime rings

Social -children who do well in studies will make their parents proud, ensuring that the family’s honour is intact, especially in the Eastern context Economy -supply of manpower to the future economy

Even if they do well academically, they may not have a good character

Economic -Higher cost of living, expensive to bring children up
