I am very excited on my successful application for MSIB class 2019. I am also very interested in the grant-in-aid program or any other financial assistance opportunities available for MSIB students.
MSIB program is the perfect program for my skillset. I graduated BS Electronics Engineering and successfully passed the April 2015 boards. Few people are very familiar with this but ECE also has a Technopreneurship subject which introduces us students to entrepreneurship with the application of technology. After passing the board exam, I grabbed the opportunity to learn more about entrepreneurship in real life apart from books and theories. 2016 also gave me an opportunity to enter the Real Estate field. February 2016 I successfully passed the Real Estate Broker board exam. Being able to be familiar with the 3 types of business (manufacturing, retail and service), I find the service business, more in particular, the real estate service more manageable to operate and also has the simpler financial statement to start with.
As of today, focusing on the real estate service, I work with a family owned corporation-developer based in Batangas which I also consider as my family. Apart from being on the Sales Department of the project, I am very flexible and can also work on other areas of operation wherever assistance is needed. From the strategy to earn more sales to sale of the properties, to Bank loan approval and transfer of title to the clients, I make sure every step until the turnover of the property to the client is successful. Some people might think being an Electronics Engineer venturing to Real Estate is very weird. What they don’t see is that every field, even Real Estate, is all upgrading with technology. From smart homes to project management and property management. It might be only available to large companies, but sooner or later it will eventually be available to the general public. I believe that the program will be very helpful to me in reaching my goals to apply technology in the Real Estate field. Since 2015 I did not stop learning about business with real life experiences and failures as my mentor. I took the long road of staring from basic to learn everything and what it takes to operate a business and then hopefully how to apply technology with it. Because I believe that business thrives based on the needs of the market, not the wants of the business owner; and finding and understanding those needs is very challenging. MSIB program is a one of a kind program that I don’t find in any other institutions. Other institutions only offer programs either purely about business or purely technical but never the combination of the two. I can also be of help to the MSIB program as is it very rare for an electronics engineer, whose background is really about technology, to venture in Real Estate particularly in sales which we all know is the field that big income potential. I may not be engineer who can invent new things but I believe that I can be the perfect aggregator of both fields and that is the innovation I know I will eventually contribute. Having all these experiences, whatever will be taught and discussed at the MSIB program will be the perfect explanation of every success and failure that had happened to me. Apart from others who will be studying it first then apply what they learned; what I did is that I experienced it first, then the program will help explain what happened and why it happened. Then eventually direct me on the right path to success.
