Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna, VC of AIUB and member of the Executive committee of the International Association of University Presidents (IAUP) attended the meetings of the Council of Senior Advisers in Seoul Cyber University, Korea on Sept. 10-11, 2007 and Executive Committee in Far Eastern National University, Vladivostok, Russia on Sept.12-13, 2007. The IAUP is an international forum for presidents, chancellors, vice chancellors and rectors of universities, and other institutions of higher learning around the world. Founded in Oxford in 1964 in the belief that the strengthening of universal understanding represents one of the central challenges for education in every nation of the world. It provides a unique worldwide platform. It facilitates the exchange of professional experience through conferences, seminars, publications, working groups, commissions and with other projects. The IAUP has embraced since its foundation the mission of promoting peace, security and well-being for human kind through education; generating an atmosphere of friendship and understanding, encouraging joint research and exchange of faculty and students, facilitating cultural exchanges and collaborating with other organizations in maintaining world peace and progress for the benefit of humanity.
