GOVERNMENT • Divided into 3 branches- Executive, Judicial, and Legislative. • Executive and Legislative branches operates at the national level. • Judicial branch operates at the national and local level. • South Korea is a constitutional democracy.

SPORTS • Martial art taekwondo originated in Korea; it came an official Olympic sport in 2000. • Other martial arts are taekkyeon, hapkido, tang soo do, kuk sool won, kumdo and subak. • Baseball was introduced in 1905. • In the 2008 Olympics they won the gold medal in baseball. • They also perform archery, shooting, table tennis, badminton, short track speed skating, handball, hockey, freestyle wrestling, baseball, judo,

ECONOMY • South Korea had the world's second fastest growing economy from 1960 to 1990. • They are the world's largest shipbuilder and one of the world's top five automobile manufacturing nations. • They also major in crude oil imports, refined oil exports, and the building construction industry.

FOREIGN RELATIONSHIPS • South Korea maintains a sensitive relationship with approximately 170 countries. • Some of the big countries they are in relation with are USA, North Korea, China, and Japan. •

FACTS • North Korea, known officially as the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. • Its population is 23 million people. • All religion has been effectively prohibited since the 1950s. • North Korea uses the Won for their currency (money). • They speak Korean. •

SPORTS • The most well-known sport in North Korea is Arirang. • They also play soccer which they call football. • And they also participate in the Olympics. • They also do boxing, freestyle wrestling, and weightlifting. •

LOCATION • North Korea is located in east Asia on the northern half of the Korean peninsula. • They share borders with China, Russia, and South Korea. •

CLIMATE • They have four seasons. • They also have natural hazards including late spring droughts, flooding, and occasionally typhoons. • The winters are long and very cold. • The summers are short hot and humid.

Religions • They practice Buddhism and Confucianism. • Buddhism is they guy with the bid belly.
