VI. Solutions: A) “Septic Tank” Garbage Disposal System 1) Raw garbage is collected by present garbage collectors. 2) The raw garbage are unloaded to a transport barge and towed by a tug to a floating transfer station. 3) At the transfer station, the raw garbage is segregated as follows: a) Recyclables @ 10% sold to dealers at P 12 / kg (average). b) Bio – degradable @ 40 % sold at P 250 / MT for composting. 4) Non – biodegradable @ 50 % are loaded and stored permanently into a Ferrocement Barge. NOTE: at this point, the garbage problem is solved. B) Construction on 4000M of breakwater / Fishpond 1) Park Forty (40) ferrocement barges loaded with water one after the other to form a straight line. Barges are financed from profits. Of the previous barge 2) Both ends of the straight line breakwater shall be anchored to prevent drifting 3) The ferrocement barge loaded with water as a breakwater can be used also as a floating fishpond. 4) In the U.S., they can produce 3,000,000 kilos per hectare or 750, 000 kilos per barge based on proportion. 5) In Japan, floating fishpond is widely used. 6) Sales of tilapia produced at 50% discount or P40/kg will generate revenue of P30M per year per barge. This revenue is not included in the cash flow of the garbage project. Within twelve (12) month’s, both objectives can be attained. Number barges needed for garbage is about 54 generating revenue of about P3200M per year. Sulotions: Continued Theoretically, the profit can easily finance 160 barges which is more than the 54 barges needed for garbage and 40 barges needed for the breakwater/fishpond. The balance of about sixty (60) barges can be used to make a “FISHERMAN’S WHARF” similar to that facility is about 150,000m2 or fifteen (15) hectares. This can be leased at P200/m2 or sold at P30000/m2. Revenues from the Fish pond and the “Fisherman’a Wharf” were not included in the cash flow o garbage. As a word of caution, do not get intimidated with the amounts. Just do what you have to do and the above will happen. It is a consequence not an objective. It will happen like water seeking its own level. All these are based on “Physics and Science”. Most of all, these are “Gifts Of God” which must be used to help others. The profits will come in like as avalanche. It must be used to help others just as fast, otherwise it will on you and becomes a problem. Good luck and may god enlighten us to do what is right.
