The retreat was hosted by St.Columba’s Episcopal Church in Big Bear. The weekend included an outdoor Eucharist written by the students and celebrated by Rev. Jeannie. They also received letters written by their parents emphasizing their significance in their parents’ lives. They attended church on Sunday at St. Columbus where the priest focused on our youth and their importance in the world. The event was a weekend of fun and bonding as Trinity youth. They are already planning a beach clean-up event in the next 1-2 months and a camping trip for the summer. The Gathering continues to have 9-15 students in attendance every Wednesday evening. After Dark is going through an adjustment phase. There will be a meeting on Thursday, March 18, 7:00 pm to evaluate the existing program and discuss its future direction. TREASURER’S REPORT – Angelo Samperisi For the month of February, pledge income is over budget by $2,960; and expenses are under budget by $3,828. One additional pledging unit in the amount of $3,000 has been received and will be reflected in the next month’s report. PAROCHIAL REPORT The 2009 Parochial Report was presented to the Vestry for review. This report includes Trinity Episcopal’s activities such as baptisms, membership increases/decreases, communicants/youth in good standing, attendance information, Eucharists celebrated, etc. Also included is revenue and expense information. The revision requested for this report was the figure for “outreach from operating budget” (line 13) to be moved to “all other operating expenses” (line 14). The Parochial Report was approved as amended. AUDIT The Audit is currently in process. RECTOR’S REPORT – Rev. Jeannie Martz Rev. Jeannie provided the Vestry with a list of capital projects being considered as well as a draft proposal for a Trinity Campus Enhancement Committee. She asked that the Vestry review both documents prior to the next meeting and be prepared to discuss. SENIOR WARDEN – Michael Elwood A Trinity Players Commission has been established to address future events similar to the recent Radio Show, dramatizations during Lent, and other presentations.

The Corazon project is scheduled for the Fall of 2010. We are currently in search of a partner for this project. Mike Elwood, Rev. Jeannie and Annie Engstrom are coordinating the date for this activity. Nell encouraged a “regular build” rather than an “addition” as this would be less expensive. Mike Elwood suggested that a discussion regarding the use of funds for 2011 should begin in May, 2010 rather than waiting for until the Fall Stewardship/Pledge push. JUNIOR WARDEN – Doug Knarr Paul Paskin, Eagle Scout candidate, is in the planning process for his Eagle Scout project. The project is the building of two wooden benches for the Trinity facility. Still to be determined is the location of the benches, if they should be bolted down, etc. Paul is looking for feedback from the Vestry. Doug asked for Vestry members to meet with Paul following the 10:00am church service on March 21. As a result, Paul will finalize his plans, obtain the Vestry’s approval by June and complete the project by September. LIASON REPORTS Christian Education – Derek Anderson reported that there will be an initial Vacation Bible School meeting on Sunday, March 21, following the 10:00am church service. Property Report – Nell Kenyon reported that the new light bulbs have been installed in the sanctuary, the gutters have been repaired, weeds were sprayed, shrubs were replaced and the coffee maker has been repaired. Jason Atalla is getting prices for carpet squares to replace the carpeting in the hall. Small Groups - Barbara Samperisi has visited a number of Trinity’s small groups. The Trinity Players Commission has been established. SAS has celebrated their 11th anniversary. The Book Club and Single Women’s groups are going strong. The Brotherhood of St. Andrew is rather small; however they continue to faithfully meet on a weekly basis. Outreach – Betsy Little reported that tickets will go on sale beginning Sunday, March 21, for the annual Easter Breakfast. ERD – Pat Spencer reported that the Collection boxes for Lent have been made available for parish members. New Members – Ann Walker advised that a Wine and Cheese Event to welcome new members has been scheduled for May 16. There have recently been a few new families join us at Trinity. Environmental Stewardship – Gene Robinson reported on the upcoming Earth Day event scheduled for April 18. There will be one service that Sunday followed by a courtyard full of informative displays regarding water conservation, organic cosmetics and other environmentally friendly subject matter. There will be food, fun and a hat parade (accompanied by a kazoo band according to Jeannie). NEW BUSINESS STEWARDSHIP PLA NNING PROCESS – There is interest in a follow-up discussion regarding ideas and concepts introduced by Bishop-Elect Bruce during the Vestry Retreat. It was decided that the April Vestry meeting will be limited to a review of the previous meeting’s minutes and the treasurer’s report plus anything requiring immediate attention. The balance of the meeting will be a stewardship brainstorming session. The meeting adjourned at 9:35pm.
