OVERVIEW OF THE PROJECT 

Deliverables: 







A complete list of titles for all positions in VAC Headquarter (approx. 300 jobs) Full set of job description, performance management documents for all jobs. Full set of competency dictionary that are relevant for VAC Headquarter’s jobs Salary structure for VAC Headquarters' job

OVERVIEW OF THE PROJECT 

Time lines:  Project starts on 1st October 2008 and ends on 14th August 2009.  Stage 1: Situational Review - completed by 16th Dec 2008.  Stage 2: JDDs for Managerial level (including Directors and Managers) and Draft Competency Dictionary – by 30th March 2009.

Stage 3: JDDs for all remaining jobs – by 16th May 2009. Stage 4: Performance Management protocols for all jobs and Final Competency Dictionary – by 30th June 2009 Stage 5: Salary structure – by 31st July 2009. Sign off and finalise the project – by 14th August 2009 PIR after 6 months and 12 months

STAGE 1: SITUATIONAL REVIEW 

Tasks and tentative dates:  Starts on 1st Oct 08 and completed by 16th Dec 08.  Establishment of VAC steering committee (VSC) by 1st October 08  Kick-off meeting between APMG Consulting Team (ACT) and VSC on 1st Oct 08.  Meetings with CEOs and his direct reports from 2nd till 8th Oct 08  Training and task allocation for ACT/VSC on 10th Oct.

STAGE 1: SITUATIONAL REVIEW 



  

Data collection including current structure, current number of jobs, related documents, current policies, selected interviews - by 23rd November Data consolidation and report by ACT – 7th Dec 08 Proposed JDD format by 7th Dec 08 Final review by Principal – 12th Dec 08 Findings presentation to VSC/ VAC Representative – 16th Dec 08

STAGE 2: JDDs for Managerial levels  Preconditions: Sign off of all findings and approved list of recommendation. (It may take 2 weeks for VAC to come up with the approval).  Final JDD format approved by Principal Tasks and tentative dates:  Starts on 2nd Jan 09 and completed by 30th March 09.  Tet break: 12th Jan 09 till 1st Feb 09  List of titles by 11 Jan 09 



STAGE 2: JDDs for Managerial levels   

Documenting Directors’ jobs by 15nd Feb Documenting Managers’ jobs by 8th Mar Training Directors/ Managers on JD documenting skills from 9th – 22nd Mar 09 Draft list of standard KPIs by 30th Mar Deliver final JDDs – 30th Mar First draft of Competency Dictionary - by 30th Mar

STAGE 3: JDDs for Staff levels 



Preconditions:  JDDs for managerial levels are signed off Tasks and tentative dates:  Starts on 1st Apr 09 and completed by 16th May 09.  Company’s break: 29th Apr till Sun 3rd May

Work with VAC’s managers to prepare first draft of their department's jobs by 15th Apr Finalise JDDs by 10th May Format and printing by 15th May Second draft of Competency Dictionary by 15th May Deliver final JDDs – 16th May

STAGE 4: PMs for all jobs 



Preconditions:  All JDDs signed off Tasks and tentative dates:  Starts on 17th May and completed by 30th Jun 09.  Final Competency Dictionary sign off – 31 May

STAGE 4: PMs for all jobs  



Final standard KPIs for all jobs by 31st May Work with VAC’s managers to prepare first draft of PMs including KPIs allocation and expected competencies for their department's jobs by 15th Jun Finalise PMs JDDs by 30th Jun

STAGE 5: Salary Structure 



Preconditions:  All JDDs signed off Tasks and tentative dates:  Internal review by 27th Apr  Market review by 29th May  Consulting with VSC and get their input by 15th June  ACT recommendations by 30th June  Finalise the structure by 31st Jul 09

PROJECT PRESENTATION 



Preconditions:  All JDDs with PMs signed off  Competency Dictionary sign off  Salary structure sign off Tasks and tentative dates:  Re-formatting and printing to DVD for each department  Implementation recommendation/ steps  1 day training for all Managers on user instruction and end with a party by 14th August.
