UNIT 15: WOMEN IN SOCIETY. LESSON 2: SPEAKING.

I. Aims: -Speaking about the diferrent roles between men and women in society. - Helping ss understand the role of women in society and at home . Ss give their opinions to agree or disagree with the information in lesson. - Speaking and writing skills II. Teaching aids: Textbook , whiteboard.. III. Procedure

Teacher’s activities WARM-UP T asks ss some questions related to lesson . 1 . What does your mother often do after working? 2. What do you think about the role of women in present?

BEFORE YOU SPEAK: Task 1: Study the expressions and practise saying them aloud. T instroduces task1 to ss and explains the meaning of the expressions about agreement and disagreement .

Students’s activities

- Ss listen to T and answer. 1.My mother often do….. 2. I think………

Ss listen to T and know the way to use the expressions to express the agreement and disagreement.

T read the expressions Ss listen and repeat them

WHILE YOU SPEAK: Task 2: Work in groups. Read and respond to these

statements. Begin your respones with one of the expressions in Task 1. T instructs ss to practise saying Task 2 and base on the expressions in task 1 to agree or disagree with the statements. T encourages ss to give the reasons for each statement which they discuss.

Ss read all of the statements in task2 in order to understand the content. Ss work in groups.

T can provide words or reasons for ss to speak eassily. T calls ss to practise saying before class. Ss practse before class A: I think men are usually stronger than women . B: I quite agree . Men have better physical than women . C:I donot agree because today women can do jobs as well as men . Task 3: Work in groups . Discuss whether you agree or disagree with the following statement and give explainations. T asks ss to read the information between two columns T explains the meanings of new words for ss to understand . T instructs ss to practise saying task 3. T gives the example for ss to understand Ex: A: I think married women should not go to work.

Ss read the information in two columns . Ss can ask T new words. Ss look at the example and change the statements in “ For” column for agreement and “ Against” column for disagreement in order to replace the underlined words.
