The project will have every kind of urban facilities such as Commercial Centers, Educational Centers, Religious Centers, Health Centers, Hospitals, Community Centers, Sports Complex, Recreational Centers, Parks and Industries area for small industries with no pollution.
Serious shortage of houses is common in all over Afghanistan, particularly in Kabul and other major cities. It is one of the major urban problem. The estimated population of urban areas in the country is about 6 million people or one million families, so according to the estimation one million houses are needed and we have a shortage of 300000 houses in Urban areas .
Vision
The last three decades of war in Afghanistan and problems ( anarchy in all over the country, mass destruction of infrastructure, increasing of population in the cities, Rural to Urban migration, and the return of more than 4 millions Afghan Refugees from neighboring countries) has changed the (lack of houses) issue as a major problem and outcry for shelter.

The UAE Residential Housing Scheme Project will provide residential facilities for 10,886 families or 76,202 population.
The total area of project is 350 hectares.
From total 10,886 houses, there will be.
1,262 dwelling units (detached houses).
9,624 dwelling units (apartments => 246 high rise blocks)

Three Rooms Apartment 80 m2
Four Rooms Apartment 110 m2
Five Rooms Apartment 125 m2
Housing Distribution Policy Urban employment centers
The completion of this project will take more than three years, during this time there will be employment opportunities for 40,000. skilled labor and 80,000. unskilled labor
40 Hectares piece of land is selected for small industries with no pollution and about 150 firms will be activated in this area, that will provide job opportunities for 2,000 people. There is a business center area, which is preplanned for more than 2,000 shops and stores and can provide work opportunities for 4,000 people.
Sport centers such as Stadium, Gymnasiums, Clubs and recreational parks are also planned for this project.
Special plots for handicap people of the society such as disabled people, orphans are allocated. Also special schools for the education of disabled children are planned in the project. Beneficiary of thehousing project units are all The recipients of these low income Afghan families living in Kabul of which some 75% shall be government employees. The house shall be sold to these beneficiaries on long term monthly payment, provided that monthly payment is not more then 5,000 Afs (USD 100). This is decided to invest the continuous returning capital of monthly payment in more similar housing projects.

USD 28.5 millions fund will be allocated for establishment of basic infrastructure (water supply, power, Road, Canalization). Total land is about 350 hectares, which worth more than USD 10 millions. According to primary calculation the payments will be on monthly bases. The Installment of the houses will be $100-$150 per month for 15-20 years. According to the prepared regulations, the cabinet will assign a commission to work on housing distribution policy and how to allocate the needy people to be legible to buy home.
