TYPES OF FLANGES 1. Weld Neck Flange

 Tapered Hub  Useful for repeat bending conditions  Used in high pressure environments

2. Slip on Flange

 Flange Slipped over pipe and welded on both sides  High strength and leakage prevented  Low Cost

3. Lap-Joint Flange

 Flange slipped over the pipe  Flange not fastened with the pipe  Used in conjunction with a lap joint stub end

4. Threaded Flange

 Used in special circumstances  Threaded flange can be attached to the pipe without being welded  Used to create internal thread

Blind Flange

 Manufactured without a bore  Used to blank off the end of piping, valves and pressure vessel openings  Suitable for high pressure temperature applications

Socket-weld Flange

 Connected with the pipe with 1 fillet weld on the outside of the flange  Due to corrosion issues, some processes do not allow this flange
