Two Needle Baby Hat Do you prefer not to use circular or DP needles and would rather knit a baby hat flat and sew up a seam? Then, you'll like this pattern.

Size: one size 6-12 months Gauge: 9 sts = inch in 2x2 rib NOT stretched Circumference of hat NOT stretched is 10 inches, it is very stretchy and will fit a wide range of head sizes. (Marcelo's head wearing hat is 44.5 cm - 17.5")

Materials: 1 pair Crystal Palace Bamboo or DAISY needles size 5 Bunny Hop: (microfiber + angora) - 1 50 gr ball #0061 seascape 1 large eye tapestry needle

Abbreviations: BO: bind off, k2tog: knit 2 sts together, st: stitch, CO: cast on, DP: double point, inc: increase, rep: repeat

Instructions: CO 90 sts Row 1: *K2, P2*, ending K2. Row 2: *P2, K2,* ending P2 Repeat this 2-2 ribbing until work measures 4 inches Begin Broken Rib pattern: Row 1a: K1, P1 Row 2a: K Row 3: same as Row 1a Row 4: *K8, k2tog* rep to end of row [80 sts] Row 5: same as Row 1a (this will break up the pattern where dec's were made, but that is OK) Row 6: *K7, k2 tog* rep to end of row Row 7, 9, 11 and all odd rows: repeat Row 5 Row 8: *K6, k2 tog* rep to end of row Row 10: *K5, k2 tog* rep to end of row Row 12: *K4, k2 tog* rep to end of row Row 14: *K3, k2tog* rep to end of row Row 16: *K2, k2tog* rep to end of row Row 18: *K1, k2tog* rep to end of row Row 19: *K1, k2tog* rep to end of row Repeat Row 18 until only 4 sts remain on needles If you have DP needles any size from 3 to 5 you may wish to end the hat as I did with 3.5 inches of I-cord worked over the 4 sts left. If not making I-cord, then finish dec'ing the 4 sts down to one and BO. You could also crochet a little tail of decoration at the top if you wish.
