Tutorial – Scrapbook In A Box Supplies: 1 My Reflections Level 2 paper pack - I used X7032B Autumn Treasures (Retired) 1 My Stickease Assortment D1290 Spot on Backgrounds My Acrylix Set 9 Large brads (New England Ivy) 30” grosgrain ribbon - ¼” (Cocoa & Chocolate) 30” sheer ribbon - 3/8” (Chocolate polka dots) 24” stitched ribbon – ¼” (Chocolate) Paper trimmer & scoring blade Corner Rounder Scissors - Micro tip of course Adhesive Coordinating Inks and/or distressing inks Background Stamps (Spot On Backgrounds) Piercing Tool Glue Dots Foam Tape/Pop Dots Various theme sayings either printed or stamped Bone folder (for crisper folds) NOTES: • I first decided that the very darkest coordinating CS color would be for the paper ribbon (Cocoa). The lid and innermost layer would be the lightest CS color (Desert Sand). The outside of the box (outer layer) would be the next to the darkest color (New England Ivy). The center layer and coordinating lid accents would be the next to the lightest color (Barn Red). • Don't cut ribbon into pieces; start at end and tie knots, then cut. • Corner Round all pieces as shown and ink distress all pieces before assembly. • Complete all 3 sections before adhering sections together. • "Neutral" CS refers to the light CS that comes in your packet (e.g. White Daisy, Colonial White, Vanilla, Bamboo) Instructions: 1. Outside Layer: Take one 12x12 sheet of CS you've selected as outside layer of Box (I selected NE Ivy and opted for Textured CS) and stamp w/dots on the outside and beads & dots on the inside. Score 4" from each outside edge of paper (light side/inside up). Fold all scores towards the center. Cut as shown below in the first figure. Round all corners and ink distress edges and folds on both sides of paper. (This is CS_1)

2. Middle Layer: Take one 11½" x 11½" sheet of CS (Barn Red stamping inside w/dots) and score 3-7/8" from each outside edge (dot side up). Fold scores toward the center. Cut out all corners as shown below. Round corners and ink distress edges and folds on both sides of paper. (This is CS_2)

3. Innermost Layer: Take on 11" x 11" sheet of CS (Desert Sand stamping outside w/dots) and score 3-7/8" from each outside edge (solid side up). Fold scores toward the center. Cut out all corners as shown previously in Figure 2 above. Round corners and ink distress edges and folds on both sides of paper. (This is CS_3)

4. Lid: Take a 7-3/8" x 7-3/8" sheet of CS (Desert Sand) and score 1-5/8" from each outside edge of paper. Fold all scores toward the center. Cut into center fold as shown below. Fold the flaps toward the inside and glue in place. Ink distress all edges and folds.

5. Pick out 3 B&T Paper. I will call it B&T_1; B&T_2; B&T_3. B&T_1 will be the decorative paper that will embellish the outside of your box. For B&T_2, I selected something with stripes or lines. For B&T_3 select something that compliments the first two B&Ts. Remember that our new B&T has 2 sides not just a solid color and pattern side.

Embellishing: 6. Outer Layer Section--Outside (Dotted side): Cut 4 pieces of B&T_1 3.5" x 3.5". Round all corners and ink distress the edges. Mount to each of the four corner flaps. If the design has a direction (e.g. if you are paper that has words) make sure that when box is closed the design is facing the right direction. When box is folded up, flaps stay on the outside.

7. Outer Layer Section--Inside: Cut TWO 3.5" x 3.5" B&T_2 ONE 3.5" x 3.5" B&T_3 ONE 3.5" x 3.5" B&T_1 FOUR neutral 3.5" x 3.5" CS Round corners and ink distress all edges of B&T papers. Tie stitched/dotted ribbon on B&T_1 (I put mine on a tag). Tie one of the neutral CS with ribbon. Mount a 1” strip of B&T_2 on neutral paper as shown. Mount B&T_2 on diagonal corner from B&T_1. Mount B&T_3 on the other corners as shown. Embellish with MyStickease, buttons, etc.

8. Middle Section (Back side): One 3.25 x 3.5” B&T_1 One 3.25 x 3.5” B&T_2 Two 3.25 x 3.5” Neutral color Round corners and ink distress all edges of all papers. Tie sheer ribbon around one neutral CS. Mount all papers to flaps as shown. Add MyStickease and other embellishments.

10. Center-most Section (Inside side): One 3 x 3” B&T_3 One 2.75 x 3.5” B&T_1 One 2.75 x 3.5” B&T_2 Two 2.75 x 3.5” Neutral CS One 2-3/8x3” Neutral CS Round all corners and Ink distress edges of papers. Mount B&T_3 to center of Inside section. Mount all papers as shown in picture below. Add ribbons, MyStickease, and other embellishments as shown.

11. Center-most Section (Back side): Four 2.75 x 3.5” Round corners and Ink distress edges of all papers. Mount to flaps. Add ribbon, MyStickease, and other embellishments as desired.

12. Put all layers together with strong adhesive. All layers together look like this:

13. Completing the lid: Four 1 x 2.5” CS_2 Two 0.5 x 7-3/8” CS_4 Round corner of CS_2 and ink distress all edges. Score at 1.25”. Mount to corners of lid and add brads. Mount 0.5” strips of CS_4 as shown. Make tag and add tag & bow (bow instructions to follow).

14. Bow Instructions: Two 0.5 x 12” strips of CS_4 One 0.5 x 6” strip of CS_4 Punch hole in each end of strips and one in the middle of the two 12” strips. Make a loop with 6” strip overlapping at hole. Place brad in holes from inside of loop, but don’t open brad (picture 1). Set aside. Overlap two 12” strips at hole in middle (picture 2). Hold in place with finger. Take ends of long strips and twist so that the unpatterned side stays on top, matching holes (see picture 3). Place center loop brad thru all holes and open ends of brad to keep in place (see picture 4).
