TRIZ provides many instruments and heuristics in order to solve innovation problems. Contradiction Matrix is using for solving technical contradictions. Separate Principle is using for solving physical contradictions. Su-Field analysis can help engineer simplified and modeling their problems. The instruments above are most used in TRIZ. However, there are still other TRIZ instruments including Standard Solutions, Energy Synthesis, Agent, ARIZ. They are more high level, and complicate and their practicability are being argued by many TRIZ experts. This weekend I attended a TRIZ course and I asked the teacher how to select a right tool in many instruments TRIZ provided. He told me he had the same problem and he had asked one TRIZ master, Darrel Mann, this problem. Mann told him all these instruments are based on TRIZ 40 principles. The 40 principles are abstract so different people has different view of them. It depends on personal experience and knowledge. It looks simple but it is powerful. I will briefly introduce Su-Field, Technical Contradiction and Physical Contradiction in the report of this week. Since they have many tables that can be found everywhere on the internet. I only extract the main idea of these instruments.
