Introduction: This tool even though is not given in a any known classics, have been in use in certain parts of India such as West Bengal for time immemorial. This too is used for finding out the auspicious and inauspicious years in conjunction with the dasas such as the Vimshottari dasa. During an unfavourable dasa, if the year lords happen to be malefics according to this chakra, then the native suffers untold sufferings. The basis of this tool is three chakras namely, the Ketu Pataki Chakra, the Ketu Kundali Chakra and the Guru Kundali Chakra. As per these three chakras, different planets are assigned to each nakshatra (based on 27 nakshatra scheme). Based on the birth nakshatra of the native different planets become the year lords as per the sequence of planets given on the chakra. For example the sequence of year lords as per the Ketu Pataki Chakra is Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Saturn, Jupiter, Rahu, Ketu and Venus. If the year lords as per the three chakras are predominantly benefic, the year shall be auspicious while predominance of malefics shall make the year in-auspicious and troubles ridden. Interpretation: 1. Malefics are Mars, Saturn, Sun, Rahu, Ketu, badly associated Mercury and Moon weak in pakshabala, whereas benefics are Venus, Jupiter, well associated Mercury and Moon with strong pakshabala. 2. If according to all the three chakras, Ketu Pataki, Ketu Kundali and Guru Kundali, the year is lorded by a Malefics, then the native suffers from many troubles, trials and tribulations. If during the same time, malefic dasa runs, the effect would be much stronger. 3. Following are the effect of planets when they become the year lords. a. b. c. d. e. f. g. h. i.

The Sun: Health troubles, financial loses. The Moon: Fulfilment of desires ornaments. Mars: Accidents, fire hazards, diseases. Mercury: Gain of knowledge, literary pursuits. Jupiter: Gain of wealth, power and authority. Venus: Gain of wealth and material comforts. Saturn: Loss of wealth and property; chronic diseases and death. Rahu: Mental stress and all round troubles. Ketu: Un-diagnosable diseases and accidents.

4. The year lorded by Rahu and Saturn cause health troubles and susceptibility to death. The results can only be concluded based on the running dasas. 5. If more than one malefic occurs in a year as per the three chakras, the year would inauspicious, whereas three malefic occurring in a year makes it extremely inauspicious and a year filled with trials and tribulations. Similarly more than one benefics make the year very auspicious. The results are to be read based on the nature of the planets involved. 6. In addition to the natural malefics as mentioned above, the following planets shall also be troublesome if they become the year lords. a. b. c. d.

8th lord Planets aspecting the 8th house Enemies of 8th lord 6th lord.
