The business should be in the fields where foreigners are allowed to own more than 50% of the capital (from July 30th 2007). Otherwise, Mekong Capital would only invest at the legal level. The business should not be directly competitive with the current funding of Mekong Capital.”

What will the “champion” get? 

400.000$ will be invested in the company (in which 10.000$ will belong to the champion). The management board will get 50% of the stocks after 5 years if the company can be priced 20M$ at that time (i.e., 10M$). CEO = 3000$ and 2 managers = 2000$ per month. After the 1st year, the salary will be increased 30%/year but can not be over 7,5% the annual profit of the company that year. Mekong capital will support the formation of the company. 6

Early deadline - March 30th 2007. Late deadline - May 30th 2007. First round - June 15th 2007 : interview 20 best teams. Second round - June 30th 2007 : 5 best teams. Deadline for optimization - July 15th 2007. Final round – July 30th 2007. Announcement: August 2007.

Provide the third party inbound logistic services in Viet Nam. The services include: 

Standard : Pick and pack, warehousing, distributing. Advanced : Standard + Import/Export, Insurance, Online ordering and tracking. Premium : Integrate with the customers and take their entire logistic function. 9

The market size is huge: Logistic has not been well developed in Viet Nam (just small individual transportation and warehousing). Its development is very bright: 

Viet Nam is building the country, so she needs a national service to import/export, transport, store and distribute everything. An increasing number of foreign vendors are working in Viet Nam, they need a professional and national logistic system.

Develop a national branch of transportation and warehousing by selfbuilding and co-operating. Do the Export/Import, Insurance procedure as a proxy of the customers. Provide value-added services for customers with an efficient IT network (real time tracking, ordering, changing orders…) 11
