Storytime Festival at Jules Verne B. Beauvais

The Storytime Festival held at the Jules Verne

school on Mon., May 5 was a huge success, reflected by the wonderful turnout and the smiles and laughter of the children. There was a book exchange, a reading tent, a center where the children could make bookmarks, play word games, write a collaborative story and contribute to a story mural. At each center,

the children had their “passports” stamped. It was a joy to see the children enjoying the reading and writing activities dressed in their pyjamas with a “tutu” in tow! Information about TLE and a parents’ booklet were given to friends and parents attending. Each child was given a book to take home. Beautiful books

Returning to school after being a mom of adult children, it is fun and interesting, but to be in class with teenage children is a completely different feeling. I remember the first day I came to school. I entered the class and I was surprised all students were

Each student has a different character and a different way of thinking. Anyway, I’m used to all of them, and I learned so many new things from them. By the time I integrated in the situation and I learned how to work on the computer and speak more fluently my English, I became familiar with my new class and my classmates and teacher Darlene, of course Christiane too, they were

Montreal Science Center I want to say how wonderful it was at the Montreal Science Centre field trip that we went to three weeks ago on Friday. It was absolutely fantastic,

very kind and very encouraging to all of us. I will thank you guys; you made me happy and proud of myself, by learning and succeeding in my school. Friends keep going. Do not stop until you’ve got your high school diploma.

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our friend and colleague Beth. Elizabeth Green lost her courageous battle with cancer this past spring. Beth will always be an hon-

oured and cherished volunteer member of The Learning Exchange. Her dedication and attention to detail were unsurpassed. She actively participated at TLE on the Public Relations Team, the Family Literacy Committee and as the Secretary on our Board of Directors for many years.
