Title: A Tourist Attraction Terms Of Reference: Our course Coordinator for JUE100 – Preparatory English Mr. Shahrier Pawanchik asked for the project report during our Orientasi for Sidang Akademik 2009/2010 on 02nd June 2009. He requested us to form a group of five or six members and not less, and these members must be from the same regional centre (Pusat Wilayah). He also requested us to narrow down our choice to our town/city or state and write in about 400-500 words on the topic that our group have chosen. Topic that our group have chosen is A Tourist Attraction – Putrajaya. Introduction Putrajaya, just outside the city of Kuala Lumpur and bordering on Malaysia's Silicon Valley of Cyberjaya, is designed as an intelligent, cyber-city. It is the new federal government administrative center. Designed as a model city, it is a thoroughly modern township that displays the best of Malaysian design and architecture in an environmentally-friendly setting of beautifully landscaped lakes and parks. Perdana Putra The Perdana Putra building houses the offices of the Prime Minister of Malaysia, the Deputy Prime Minister, Ministers and Deputy Ministers in the Prime Minister's Department, Chief Secretary to the Government, Scientific Advisor's Office, Special Technology Unit, Implementation Coordination Unit and the Malaysian IndustryGovernment Group for High Technology. The design of the building incorporates elements of Islamic-Mogul architecture and overlooks the Putrajaya Lake. The stoneclad building with its green-pitched roof that converges at the onion-shaped glazed mosaic main dome and surrounded by four smaller domes, forms the distinctive landmark of Putrajaya, wrought iron bunga raya motifs and water jet stone carvings decorate the main block.

There is a large central atrium around which the various rooms are arranged. The Library is located on the Ground floor, with the hearing rooms of both the Federal and Appeal Courts located on the first floor. The Registries and offices of the Appeal and Federal Courts are on the second and third floors respectively, with the chambers of the Appeal and Federal Court Judges on the fourth and fifth floor. Putrajaya International Convention Centre Putrajaya International Convention Centre or PICC is the main convention centre in Putrajaya, Malaysia. The design of the building is unique because it an impressive building is based on the shape of the eye of 'pending perak' (a silver Malay royal belt buckle). Conclusion Putrajaya is a planned city, located south of Kuala Lumpur, that serves as the federal administrative centre of Malaysia. The seat of government was shifted in 1999 3

from Kuala Lumpur due to the overcrowding and congestion there. Nevertheless, Kuala Lumpur remains as Malaysia's national capital and also as the commercial and financial centre. Putrajaya was the brainchild of a former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohammad who was in power then. In 2001, Putrajaya was made a Federal Territory, increasing the number of federal territories to three. Kuala Lumpur and Labuan are the other two.
