through 2 lenses
Objective: You will create a diptych that will showcase an important issue to your life. It can be something that affects you personally or something that you feel strongly about. One print will be from one perspective, the other print will be from a completely different perspective. The most common example of this would be our political system. We primarily have 2 distinct sides, republican and democratic. An example of through 2 lenses, would be looking at an issue from the republican side and then look at it from the democratic side (in no ways does this have to be political, just an example). This is not a cause and effect, nor is it a before and after. Diptych - 2 pieces of artwork that are displayed side by side as one piece of artwork Directions: Use a double page spread of a journal or binder to create a mixed media journal entry that doubles as a proposal for your topic. Essentially you are making a diptych for your issue you decide on. Journal Grading Criteria: Design: Using the pages to create an elegant design. Consideration of the principles of DESIGN. You have used a variety of media / materials to create the composition. Objective: You have created a design that showcases two different perspectives on 1 issue. Not a cause and effect, not a before and after. Studio skills: You have used tools to create a mixed media piece of artwork. Presentation / craftsmanship: You have used your art skills to make this a presentable piece of artwork. You have used glue to ensure all objects are secured down to your papers. You have considered the fact that this will go into your binder, not just float around as you turn it in. Journal Due Date:
