The Monterey, Calif., native opened the weekend with an incredible 30-dig performance against the Crimson Tide on Friday, which ranks as the third-best four-set dig total in UT history and second-most digs in a conference match this season. Goldman added 17 more scoops as the Big Orange swept Mississippi State in Starkville. She finished with just two reception errors in 57 attempts on the weekend. 2009 VOLLEYBALL

Week 8/3

Team-by-Team Notes ALABAMA Crimson Tide - The Alabama volleyball team dropped a pair of matches last weekend to SEC East opponents Tennessee and eighth-ranked Kentucky. Friday’s contest with the Lady Volunteers was decided by only seven points with Tennessee taking the eventual 3-1 (26-24, 25-22, 22-25, 25-23) win. Sophomore Ashley Frazier threw down a match-high 15 kills for the Crimson Tide, while senior Brooks Webster tallied her second double-double of 2009 with 13 kills and a team-best 19 digs. Junior Kayla Schmidt also roped in a double-double, her sixth of the season, with 28 assists and 16 digs. On Sunday, Alabama had a decent all-around game, but the No. 8 Wildcats were just too much earning the 3-0 (26-24, 25-19, 25-18) victory in the CAVE. Both junior Alyssa Meuth and Frazier registered double-figure kills with 13 and 12, respectively. Schmidt put forth another double-double performance with 30 assists and 10 digs, while freshman Kelsey Anderson grabbed a team-high 11 digs. Next up, Alabama hits the road to take on Auburn and Georgia on Friday, Oct. 23 and Sunday, Oct. 25, respectively. Friday's tilt with the Tigers is slated to begin at 6:00 p.m. (CST), while Sunday's match versus the Bulldogs will start at 12:30 p.m. (CST). ARKANSAS Razorbacks - The Razorback volleyball team lost a pair of straight-set decisions to Ole Miss and No. 24 LSU during its week of competition. In a home midweek matchup with Ole Miss, freshman Jasmine Norton continued to lead the offensive charge for Arkansas with 13 kills. Fellow freshmen Amanda Anderson tallied nine kills with a .389 hitting percentage and Cassie Clarke posted a careerhigh 21 assists off the bench, but the numbers weren’t enough to overcome the Rebels in the 25-18, 25-22, 25-16 loss. The Razorbacks traveled to Baton Rouge for its lone weekend contest, an Oct. 16 battle against the Tigers. Norton and Kelli Stipanovich tallied 16 and 10 kills, respectively, but LSU was too tough and came away with a 25-17, 25-21, 25-19 win. Norton has recorded 10 or more kills in six consecutive matches. Arkansas faces two road challenges this week beginning Oct. 23 at No. 9 Florida. The match will be televised by Sun Sports with a 6 p.m. (CT) start. The Razorbacks will close the weekend at South Carolina with a 12:30 p.m. contest. AUBURN Tigers - The Auburn volleyball team split its conference matches last weekend, falling to nationally-ranked Florida 3-0 (19-25, 22-25, 21-25) and defeating South Carolina 3-(28-26, 18-25, 25-13, 25-17). Freshman Sarah Bullock recorded her third and fourth double-doubles of the season this weekend. Sophomore Kelly Fidero put together an 18-kill performance on Sunday as well. Libero Liz Crouch finished with 23 digs against South Carolina and combined with her seven digs against Florida, she now has 1,059 career digs. That mark places her fourth all-time at Auburn. The Tigers are now 12-8 overall and 4-5 in the SEC. The 12 wins are the most Auburn has had since the 2006 season when the team finished the year with 13 total victories. Auburn continues its homestand next weekend, hosting in-state rival Alabama on Friday at 6 p.m. The Tigers close out the weekend with a 1:30 p.m. match against Mississippi State on Sunday.

FLORIDA Gators - The Florida volleyball team swept a pair of road matches this past weekend at Auburn and Georgia, picking up 3-0 wins against both opponents to conclude a four-match road swing. The Gators are now 13-3 overall and 8-2 in the Southeastern Conference. Sophomore right-side/setter Kelly Murphy was named the SEC Offensive Player of the Week after a remarkable two-match stretch. Murphy was impressive during the road sweeps, finishing the weekend with 26 total kills for an average of 4.33 kills per set on a stellar .600 hitting efficiency. She also averaged 5.83 assists per set, 3.17 digs per set and 1.00 blocks per set. Florida returns to action this weekend when it plays host to Arkansas (Friday 7 p.m.) and Ole Miss (Sunday 1:30 p.m.) in the Stephen C. O'Connell Center. Sunday's match will be aired live on Sun Sports in the state of Florida. GEORGIA Bulldogs - The Georgia Bulldogs started a five-match home stand last weekend by welcoming Eastern Division foes, South Carolina and Florida, to the Ramsey Student Center. The Gamecocks and Gators each came away with 3-0 wins despite some valiant play by the Bulldogs. Against USC, junior outside hitter Erika Clark and sophomore setter Kathleen Gates both recorded a double-double, and against UF, Clark and redshirt freshman Briana Bahr tied for a team-best nine kills. This week, the five-match home stretch continues against Mississippi State on Friday and Alabama on Sunday, and the final match of the home stand will come against Auburn on Wednesday, Oct. 28. Week 8/5 SEC on TV

The Southeastern Conference enters a new era with its unprecedented television agreement, and in conjunction with ESPN, FS South and CSS, set a live fall television lineup for SEC volleyball. The new agreement has tripled coverage going from five televised matches to 16 this season. This marks the first time SEC volleyball will be featured on ESPNU in a regular lineup. 8/29 8/30 9/20 9/20 9/27 9/27 9/27 10/2 10/7 10/9 10/11 10/11 10/21 10/23 10/30 11/1 11/1 11/1 11/8 11/8 11/13 11/15 11/15 11/22 11/22
