Verb there to be Present Enquanto em português o Presente do verbo haver só tem uma forma há -, em inglês o presente simples tem duas formas there is / there are. Ex: There is a book on the table. (Há um livro em cima da mesa.). There are three books on the table. (Há três livros em cima da mesa.). 1. Quando diz: There is a book. está fazendo uma afirmação / usa-se a forma afirmativa. 2. Quando diz: Is there a book? está fazendo uma pergunta /usa-se a forma interrogativa. 3. Quando diz: There isn’t a book. está negando / usa-se a forma negativa.
