The Robinsons by David Theodore Richardson III The Robinsons was a family that had the “Head of the house” Spellman College graduate Darnell T. Robinson Jr. his lovable full-figured NAACP Performing Arts School college graduate wife, Olivia Deidre Hampton Robinson, the two couple gave birth to their only child: Darnell Alvin Theodore Robinson III. Darnell Robinson Jr. was born on June 16, 1928, in Richmond, Virginia, and he was elevate by parents: Darnell Robinson (the first) (1879-1922), and Jeanette “Jessica” Robinson (1886-1927), Darnell Jr. also had an older sister Sicily Hudson-Robinson, born on April 20, 1918, and the two always had fought when they were children: Darnell Jr. would be better riding a bike better than Jessica, and Jessica was better singing than Darnell Sr. ever was, and Darnell, as the years had finally rolled by, at the age of 12, his family moved from Richmond, Virginia to Manhattan, New York, around 1940/1941, and there Darnell Jr. was such a genius, excelling in Math, English, French, Spanish, and topics of Math, he received a scholarship to New York University at just 12 years of age, Darnell Sr. agreed, and around that time, when most children was working in factories, Darnell Jr. father did dare not let him work, and made sure that Darnell Sr. got an education, whether he liked it or not. Darnell Jr. met his “love of his life”, Olivia Hampton, and they got married on April 26, 1955, in Mexicali, New Mexico. Darnell Sr. was loosely based upon James Evans Sr. (Good Times), Cliff Huxtable from The Cosby Show and Lester Jenkins from 227. Olivia Deidre Luther Hampton or Olivia Robinson is the second member of “The Robinson Trio”, she was raised with thirteen older brothers, and she was born in The Bronx, New York on April 29, 1934, and went to the Albert Einstein Elementary School from 1940 until 1946, then she transferred to the George Washington Middle School in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, New York, from 1946 until 1950. Olivia’s original name was “Olivia Deidre Luther” but her mother, Lucille, remarried and Olivia’s name was changed to Olivia Hampton until she was at the kindhearted age of sixteen, then she received a Scholarship to Yale University, and became a successful police detective, and been on many suspect’s cases for almost four decades. On April 26, 1952, she got engaged to Darnell Robinson Jr. (the man she called “an undernourished neck bone”); anyway, the two got married and moved to a better apartment in Manhattan, New York. Olivia was known for being a little overweight, but it never seemed to bother her, but Olivia once had the body of a 13-year old girl, and 50-year old man, and beat up anyone who had pushed her, her son or husband over the edge. And the third and final member of “The Robinson Trio” was Darnell Alvin Theodore Robinson III, who was born on December 16, 1961, in Manhattan, New York, and basically, Darnell III happened to be a regular smart, caring and at times “understanding” son and only child to Olivia and Darnell Jr. but his career became very successful when Darnell III discovered that he wanted to become a successful, professional Lawyer, including a R&B singer and television actor,

which he will become in 1981. Darnell had to take three buses to his Elementary School named “Frieda McDonald Johnson Elementary School” in Manhattan, New York, meaning he had to take the 15 bus all the way to 125th Street, in Harlem, Manhattan, New York, then transferred to the 72 bus to Freedom Place, where his Elementary school was located (cross-town), and Darnell III went to his elementary school from 1966 until 1972, where his mother, Olivia, removed him from the school when she discovered that the Principal of the school, Arnold Christopher Louis (A.C. Louis) was thrown in prison for robbery and have to serve over 61 years in a state penal complex in St. Louis, Missouri. Darnell’s mother Olivia, had to work at the N.Y.P.D. Department on the Upper East Side, meaning they had to take a cab every day, and got up for school and work at exactly 6:30am, Darnell’s school had open a hour earlier, meaning his Middle school “Lydia Wong I.S. 227 Middle School” was not over until 12pm, after they had lunch, meaning Darnell had a half a day every single day. Darnell spent five consecutive years (1973-1978), until he spent three years at Spellman College in Atlanta, Georgia from 1978 until 1981, where he studied to become a successful Lawyer, which he became a Lawyer from 1976 until 1981, then from 1990 until 1997. Darnell met his best friends at Spellman College: Louis Wong, a Chinese American inventor, and Leticia Mills, a promising and aspiring songwriter/choreographer, Leticia Mills helped Darnell write songs for him, and together they became the first best-friend duo to write songs, and Leticia would gain a memorable recognition, winning eight Grammy Awards for her songwriting works, and Darnell over 12 Grammy Awards including “Album of the Year”.
