THE MAIN THEME OF THE LESSON 

This story is based on the theme that love is the basis of a successful marriage.Disputes bring bitterness in married life.If there is a dispute between the husband and the wife,RECONCILATION is the best remedy.A husband should not insult his wife for bringing insufficient dowry.The wife should be loving towards her husband.she should not be angry with him

Summary of the lesson 

Professor Ambrik Singh bought a new car. When ever he went out in his car,he asked the driver to examine it again and again. One day he was going from Ludhiana to Ferozepur. The car had hardly gone one kilometer from Ludhiana when he asked the driver to examine it again. The driver stopped the car and was examining the engine.The

Summary of the lesson 



.Suddenly he saw a young man and a young woman riding on a bicyle The woman was sitting on the handle bar of the cycle. The couple passed by and was soon out of sight.The driver finished the examination of the car.Professor Ambrik Singh resumed his saw the same girl.

But now she was standing alone on the road side under as Shisham tree.She was weeping silently.The Professor asked the driver to stop the car.Then he went to the girl and asked her why she was weeping.

The girl told the Professor that it was the second time after her marriage that she was going to her in-law’s house. There was no quarrel when they had started from her mother’s house.But on the way,he began to taunt her over the issue of the meager gifts which her mother had offered him.He began to say such wicked things that it was difficult for her to control her anger.Professor Ambrik Singh asked the girl to look upon him as her father.The girl was impressed by the Professor and agreed to act upon his advice.

She got inside the car.He told her that as they passed her husband,she should look out of the window and even wave to him.They had hardly traveled a quarter of a kilometer when they caught up with the young man on the cycle.The girl looked out and wavedback to her husband.The young man recognized his wife.As the car passed by him,there was a puzzled expression on his face.The car had hardly gone half a kilometer further,when the Professor asked the driver to stop the car.The girl kept sitting in the car.After some time,the young man also arrived there on his bicyclel.

The Professor asked the Young man to stop.Then he asked him whether the young girl was his wife.The Professor’s manner was that of a policeman.The young man was puzzled and replied in the affirmative.Then the Professor asked the young man if he wanted to take his wife with him or to go with him(the professor).The youg man was so puzzled know how to open the door of the car.So she kept sitting in the car.Then the Professor asked him if he did not think that he(the professor)could get her a better husband than he. The young man kept silence.But he was sweating all over in his clothes.Then the Professor asked the young man to sit in the car beside his wife. He told him that he would give them a lift up to her home

The young man thanked the Professor for the offer but he said that he would carry his wife on his bicycle.The Professor asked the driver to hich the cycle behind the car.He told the young man that both he and his wife would travel home in his car.The young man obeyed the Professor and sat beside his wife.The car moved towards the youngman’s village.In this way,Professor Ambrik Singh brought about a reconciliation between a young woman and her husband
