Luke 8:5-15 A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it. And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture. And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it. And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be? And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand. Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away. And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection. But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience. Herein is the parable of the sower. The seed is the word of God. Those who are by the way side are the majority of hearers. These have hard hearts. And Satan immediately takes away the word out of their heart, lest they should believe and be saved. Nobody will be saved without having God first draw them to him. One day I prayed to God in faith for him to give me wisdom, and show me what his word really meant. I was reading the book of John and knew that I needed something else to understand his word. His spirit entered my heart and life shortly thereafter. In like manner, one must call upon the name of the Lord in truth. The seed that fell on the rock are those who receive the word with joy, but have no root. These are they who believed and obeyed. They repented of their sins and called upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ in baptism. Yet they never studied or got down to business with God. Those who fell upon the thorns are those who are choked out with the cares of this life. These also obeyed the truth but do not endure unto the end. The bible says love not the world and neither the things in it. For all that is in the world is the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. Our heart and affections must be set on the things above. If not, then we will become too worldly minded to bring forth fruits, and to please him who called us. We are commanded to love God first with all that we have. With the promise that all other things that we need will be added unto us, as according to the will of God. Those that received the word on the good ground, are those who out of a pure heart who keep the word. These bring forth fruit in various stages. The thirty fold, are those who did the least. Yet the will receive the reward of eternal life. Those who at sixty fold are a little more motivated to serve him. And finally, those who were hundred fold did all unto God. Now one can move from thirty fold to sixty or hundred fold. Yet, the one who goes from hundred fold to sixty or sixty to thirty, is back sliding. God has always given a opportunity for his children and in fact, the whole world time to repent. And it is not his desire that any should perish. His mercy endures forever! Matthew 13:3-23 also records this parable. And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow; And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up: Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth: And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away. And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them: But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear. And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even

that he hath. Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear. For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them. Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower. When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side. But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it; Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended. He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful. But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. Jesus only explained his word in private to his chosen ones or disciples. The book of Isaiah 6:9-10 speaks of those who having eyes to see, see not. And ears to hear, hear not. Those who are spiritually cut off in a state of sin and they can not understand the word of God to it's fullest meaning. 1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. When we believe and have followed the word like Naaman was in 2 Kings 5:1-15. Then we are made clean, whole, reborn into the family of God. Nothing is impossible with God. The only thing that God cannot do is lie. The comforter or Holy Spirit leads and guides into all truth. We have the hidden mystery inside us. The spirit of God is a mystery to those outside of his will. The world can not see him or know him. Yet, the kingdom of God is within us who believed and received the truth of God's word. 1 Corinthians 2:10-12 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. We have the same spirit or mind of Christ in us. When we walk in the spirit, we are the sons and daughters of the living God. This is the fulfillment of Jeremiah 31:31-34 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD; for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. We are grafted into the vine. We are his friends and family. He will spare us as a father would his son. Malachi 3:17 And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him. For, behold, the day

cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. Chapter 4:1-2 of the same book declares this. But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. Also he changes not says Malachi 3:6. Just as Jesus is the same forever in Hebrews 13:8 because he is God enfleshed or Immanuel, God with us. He is closer than a brother. He leads his people in paths of righteouness, for his name sake. We know his name today and it is Jesus. Yeshua means salvation and the Lord who is salvation. Jesus came to save his people from their sins. And if you are not his, he freely invites you to come and drink of the water of life. Call upon YHWH, Yahweh, or God. He alone knocks on your hearts door. And if you do not know him. God is on the outside asking for you to invite him in your heart and life. The creator of all things asks you to be his child. In doing so you will inherit all things, and overcome sin and Satan by your faith. May the peace of God that passes all understanding become yours forever.
