Purpose Using songs, homer wrote the epic poem The Odyssey.
Strategy The books strategy is to tell why the gods helped odysseus and how they did it.
Why Athena is the goddess of wisdom, courage, inspiration, civilization, law and justice, strategic warfare, mathematics, strength, strategy, the arts, crafts, and skill. Odysseus shares these traits. This encourages athena to come up with a plan with zeus to help Odysseus. This causes the adventures that odysseus has with his son
How Athena helps telemakus find his father and get back home by guiding telemakus to the island odysseus was on at the time. And at one point she even disguised herself as him because of his prince responsibilities. Even poseidon played a big role.
Effect The effect is what you feel about the gods. They really involve themselves and it makes you think about what it would be like to live in those times.
