The Green Flag

The Green Flag In order for CIS to be awarded the Green Flag, we must meet the following requirements: 1. Form an EcoSchool Committee. Committee This would be a group of students working with a teacher to lead the school in recycling and learning about sustainability. 2. Conduct an Environmental Review. Review This is a “test” we give ourselves. How green are we? 3. Make an Action Plan. Plan This is a to do list of the things the school can do to be greener. 4. Monitor and Evaluate. Evaluate This is the way the school will check on itself to see how green we are being. 5. School Curriculum. Curriculum This is how much the school fits recycling, reducing, energy and conservation into our units. 6. Raise Awareness. This is how well the school communicates and educates about important green issues. 7. Write an Eco Code. This is a “mission statement” that describes the school’s attitude and philosophy about environment the importance of being green.
