Euware Osayande is the poet Laureate at Rutgers University and the co-founder and director of POWER (People Organized Working to Eradicate Racism), a grass-roots initiative that educates and empowers participants to resist oppression. He is also the creator of Project ONUS: Redefining Black Manhood. Osayande is the 2006 recipient of the Walt Whitman Arts Center’s Vanguard Writer’s Award and author of Blood Luxury, a collection of poetry.
